Even though the mission is pretty straightforward, finding the hidden item to complete this task might take some time. Therefore, here's a step-by-step guide on how to start and complete this quest.

How To Start The Message In A Bottle Quest

To begin the Message In A Bottle quest, head to the Moosewood location, a starting area in the First Sea. To trigger the quest, you should find a small bottle with the message near the pier at the following coordinates: X: 480, Y: 135, Z: 235.

Approach the bottle and press the corresponding button to interact with it. Once you do that, you will receive the next quest objective: travel to Roslit Bay and find a White Crate hidden on the island.

Where To Find A White Crate

To find a White Crate, you need to go to Roslit Bay. You must locate the Shipwright NPC near the pier and interact with him to spawn a boat. Head north from the Moosewood area until you spot Roslit Bay.

Once you approach the Roslit Bay pier, look for a rift full of lava and follow its direction until you reach a small pond close to the other side of the island. Next, you should move forward, passing the pond until you find an empty area with a White Crate in the middle.

Here are the exact coordinates of a White Crate: X: -1879, Y: 166, Z: 589.

Move right to the crate and interact with it. Once you do, you will automatically complete the Message In A Bottle quest and receive the following rewards:

  • Experience
  • 15 Kraken Tentacles

It's worth noting that Kraken Tentacles is a rare bait, as you can get it only as a reward for completing Captain Neptune's quest or by redeeming codes.
