Master Training quests in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered offer a special way to push your skills beyond the usual level cap. However, unlocking these quests isn’t straightforward - you must meet certain criteria before you can even find the master trainer willing to help.

Even once you meet those requirements, the real challenge begins. The master trainer will still want to test your abilities with a task that directly relates to the skill you’re trying to master. Only once you prove yourself by completing this task will they agree to provide further training.

How To Start The Illusion Training Quest

Before you can start the Illusion Training quest, you need to have successfully joined the Mage Guild by completing every single recommendation quest in order to reach the Apprentice rank. This will allow you to fully access the university in the Imperial City.

Not only that, but as this is a master training quest, you need to have an Illusion level of at least 70.

With both requirements achieved, speak to any member of the Mages Guild and pick the dialogue option for Training.

They will direct you to speak with Martina Floria at the Arcane University, and then the Illusion Training quest will begin. During the conversation with Martina, she will need to test your skills, and she will ask you to bring her 10 Welkynd Stones.

How To Find Welkynd Stone

There are many places where you can get your hands on Welkynd Stones, and chances are, you probably already have some in your inventory.

Welkynd Stones are bright blue gems that you can hardly miss, and they are usually used to restore your character's Magicka.

The best way to get these is at any Elven Ruins, which are marked as yellow on your map. Inside these dungeons, you can find multiple Welkynd Stones, but be warned that they are also filled with enemies, so you must be prepared.

The closest one is just south of the Imperial City, called Sardavar Leed. Inside, you can find at least 15 of these stones. They will be hanging around and illuminating the area. Just approach any of them and interact with them to pick it up.

How To Complete The Illusion Training Quest

After you get your hands on 10 Welkynd Stones, simply make your way back to the Arcane University and speak to Martina Floria.

Give her the crystals, and this will complete the Illusion Training quest. She will then begin to train you to further enhance your Illusion skill.
