Who Is The Main Antagonist Of Act One?

In Act One, your priority is rebuilding Dreamlight Valley and helping the villagers regain their lost memories. While there are several Disney Villains in Dreamlight Valley, such as Ursula, the Sea Witch, the main antagonist of the game's first act is the Forgotten.

This mysterious individual will step in your way numerous times as you work to restore the valley. They caused the Forgetting to happen by removing the protective orbs around the valley.

Progressing through the main quests will reveal more about their motivations and their goal, highlighting the antagonistic qualities in them while also hinting that they can be redeemed if shown the error of their ways.

The Forgotten's Backstory

Long ago, before the Forgetting, the old ruler of Dreamlight Valley disappeared. Left behind was a splinter of themselves that grew bitter and resentful towards the ruler. Different villains trick the Forgotten into removing the orbs, taking advantage of the Forgotten's overwhelming emotions and uncertainty.

The Forgotten resides in the Dark Castle, a variant of the Dream Castle filled with Night Thorns and dark decor. As you progress through the main story, you'll learn about the Forgotten's plot to all but destroy the valley so that no one is ever forgotten again, and you'll have to stop them and seal the dark rifts that threaten everyone's safety.

Once you confront the Forgotten, you'll show them the truth and work together to stop the dark rifts and save the valley. A Dark Portal will allow you to go to the Dark Castle whenever you like, and the Forgotten will work on making friends again.

What Happens To The Forgotten After Act One?

After you complete the first act of the story, the Forgotten will become a villager, though they don't have any friendship levels at the time of the full release. You can speak with them daily, like every other villager, and watch them roam freely with their friends.

There are a handful of quests that can be completed with the Forgotten in an attempt to make them feel more at home, as after Act One they change focus from destroying the valley to becoming part of it once again.

These quests include creating a safe space in your home for the Forgotten and building them a poetry corner where they can express themselves freely and engage in the community.
