Training Mode in Zenless Zone Zero allows you to test out the characters you have obtained. In addition to experimenting with your builds, you can also practice some combat mechanics. It can also teach you more about the various skills and abilities of the characters you are interested in.

How To Unlock Training Mode

After you complete the Explosive Last Train quest in Chapter One, you will get a text from Coff Cafe Coffee Shop. Apparently, it seems like they need your help in serving a few customers. After doing that, the Tin Master will tell you about the HIA Career Club, so now you have to head there to try out a VR game.

After you participate in the combat trial event, they will give you a portable VR device. This will allow you to access VR Training Mode to practice using various characters.

How To Use Training Mode

You can access the Training Mode if you select 'More' and then 'Training' from the main menu. It has two different modes namely Free Training and Agent Academy.

Free Training

The Free Training mode lets you test out any character of your choice. This is perfect for testing out builds and the damage potential of your chosen character. Adjust the characters in your team to test their compatibility with each other.

Agent Academy

The Agent Academy mode is more complex as you need to go through a few challenges to complete training and obtain rewards. You will get some Polychrome, Denny, and Chips. You cannot select characters, so you have to complete various training stages with limited options.

The Perfect Dodge Training lets you practice your dodges with Anby and Billy. To complete this successfully, you need to trigger perfect dodges a total of three times. During a perfect dodge, you can also deal a dodge counter to the enemy.

You can practice your Perfect Assists and Assists Follow-up in Perfect Assist Training. You are given Anby, Billy, and Nekomata for this stage. Trigger a total of three Perfect Assists and Assist Follow-ups to complete your training.

The Attribute Anomaly Training will teach you more about Attributes that you can inflict on your enemies. For this stage, you can inflict Shock with Anby and Disorder with Billy Kid. Inflict the enemies with these effects a few times to complete the training.

Cooperative Exercises are very helpful in learning the playstyle of any character that you own. You will be taught various combos of a specific character that you have to successfully execute a few times. After that, you need to beat a few enemies to complete the stage.
