Triggering Shifting Earth Events in Elden Ring Nightreign: A Complete Guide

Unlocking Shifting Earth Events in Elden Ring Nightreign
Elden Ring Nightreign offers players the opportunity to engage in four exciting Shifting Earth events: the Crater, the Mountaintops, the Rotted Woods, and Noklateo, Shrouded City. Each of these transformative map events comes with its own set of unique objectives and rewards to uncover. However, once you’ve completed them, you may notice they seldom make a reappearance.
Previously, the only way to encounter these events again was by queuing with another player who had one active. This lack of manual triggering options has changed with the introduction of the Everdark Sovereign game mode.
Steps to Trigger Shifting Earth Events
Initially, Shifting Earth events become available after defeating the Nightlords in Elden Ring Nightreign. Once all Nightlords are defeated, players often find that these map events don’t return frequently.
To re-trigger a Shifting Earth event, players must participate in the Everdark Sovereign mode, which includes a unique version of a Nightlord that rotates on a weekly basis. You can find this option in the matchmaking menu, conveniently located at the center of the Hold.

Successful encounters will reward you with Sovereign Sigils, a new currency that allows you to activate Shifting Earth events.
These Sovereign Sigils can be utilized at a new location called the ‘Collector Signboard’, which is accessible from the list of locations displayed on your map. Simply interact with the large shield-like signboard to use your Sigils for triggering Shifting Earth events at your convenience.
Moreover, players can also spend these Sigils on various new items, including Urns, Chalices, and Relics, or even customize Nightfarer skins instead of using Murk.
Additionally, the Collector Signboard offers a feature to modify the lighting around the Hold. By selecting ‘Alter Great Site of Grace’, players can revert the Hold’s appearance to its previously illuminated state before defeating the final boss, the Night Aspect.
Finally, players who defeat an Everdark Sovereign boss for the first time will earn an increased number of Sovereign Sigils as part of their reward. Subsequent victories will yield fewer Sigils.
