Lies of P: Overture DLC Guide – Starting Your Adventure

The Lies of P: Overture expansion is a thrilling add-on to the highly praised Soulslike game, extending the gameplay by approximately 20 hours. Unlike many other downloadable content offerings, Overture is unlocked not through the main menu but by progressing to a specific point in the base game that mirrors the approach of traditional FromSoftware titles.
This expansion not only introduces a captivating new storyline but also enriches the gameplay experience with an array of fresh weapons, Legion Arms, new NPCs, and expansive levels to explore. For those eager to dive into this new adventure, this guide provides essential steps to access the Overture DLC quickly and efficiently.
Accessing the Overture DLC in Lies of P
The path to starting the Overture DLC requires players to complete Chapter 9 of the base game. Upon finishing Chapter 9’s final act, players will receive an item named “Star’s Chrysalis.”
Once you acquire this item, a notification will confirm that Overture is now available. To commence the expansion, travel to the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer located in Chapter 5.
Upon arriving at the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, a new cutscene will automatically activate, signaling the onset of the DLC. This scene features a butterfly that leads you to a previously inoperative Stargazer, which will regenerate upon your arrival.Interact with the Stargazer to access the Overture content.
Conveniently, players can alternate between the base game and the Overture world whenever they wish. To switch between timelines, simply engage with any Stargazer and press Triangle (or the equivalent button for your gaming platform).
Fast-Tracking to Chapter 9 in Lies of P
Sadly, many players might find themselves lacking a save file near or past Chapter 9. If you are in this situation, you will need to navigate through much of the base game to enjoy the DLC.
Fortunately, Overture not only introduces a new narrative but also includes adjustable difficulty settings, making it easier to progress swiftly to Chapter 9.
If you haven’t yet reached Chapter 9, especially following the unexpected release during the Summer Game Fest, it is advisable to select the lowest difficulty setting, “Butterfly’s Guidance.”
This setting transforms the game experience significantly, allowing players familiar with Lies of P to breeze through Chapters 1 to 9 with minimal resistance, often completing each chapter in under an hour.
However, remember that the Overture expansion offers a greater challenge compared to the base game. Thus, while your focus may be on rushing to Chapter 9, I suggest trading Rare Ergo to Alidoro to acquire powerful Boss Weapons. Rare Ergo is easily obtained by defeating main bosses, ensuring you’re well-equipped for the challenges of Overture.
Equipping yourself with Boss Weapons before diving into Overture is crucial for a smoother gameplay experience. Enter the DLC with a strong build to better handle the increased difficulty that awaits.
