While Minecraft is an immensely popular video game, it is well-known for its lack of realism. Developed by Mojang Studios, the game features a distinctive blocky aesthetic, leading to characters and environments that look significantly different from their real-world counterparts. This includes everything from blocky mobs to the iconic appearance of Steve. However, what if someone developed a more realistic version of Steve that resembles a human?

A user on Reddit, known as zucchini_ackerman, recently posted images on the Minecraft subreddit showcasing a model of Steve with a more “real” look while maintaining the Vanilla game skin. The model presents an eerie vibe with its elongated limbs.

In response to this unconventional model, user Arismancer commented:

“Please burn your PC.”

This comment captured the general disapproval of the model’s odd and unsettling appearance. User u/trickstercrows stated the model looked repulsive but expressed a desire to incorporate it into their game. Meanwhile, u/LamaRoux34 questioned the model’s surprisingly thin physique, noting Steve’s traditionally bulkier frame.

User u/DEADLocked90000 humorously reflected that, after seeing this model, the teaser trailer for the Minecraft movie appears far more acceptable. This comment highlighted the ongoing dissatisfaction with character designs. Additionally, user ThorneHaw urged the original poster to remove the model before it could become even worse, echoing similar sentiments from u/iambackbaby69.

Another user, u/Gardenasia, expressed their discontent with the design, while u/MrCharles_ jokingly begged the original poster to stop creating such models. User -Redstoneboi- added that the model was inaccurately designed, stating that it did not reflect Jack Black’s proportions, the actor portraying Steve in the upcoming Minecraft movie.

Interestingly, some members of the Minecraft community appear to enjoy creating unsettling mobs. Recently, another gamer crafted a particularly large creature resembling a tentacled entity, reminiscent of the Mind Flayer from the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. It raises the question of what might happen if Mojang Studios decided to officially integrate such designs into future updates.

With the possibility to introduce custom mobs and items into the game, it’s increasingly fascinating to see the innovative concepts players develop. Many are eagerly anticipating new mob additions in the upcoming 1.22 update.
