As the first day of DH London closes we are here to reflect on the amazing matches that happened today.

Most things went as expected…

The first match of Group A, EnVyUs against EZskins, was not a big deal as the Frenchmen were expected to deliver a quite fast win and so they did, closing it out at 16-2. In the next game, dignitas managed to win over Renegades at 16-13 on Cobblestone. To see dignitas win was not much of a surprise, though the Australians brought it dangerously close at the end. They and nV were thus one step further to the playoffs, as they had to battle it out for the spot in the winner bracket. EnVyUs managed to win that game and thus dignitas was put into the consolidation final against EZskins, who got demolished by the Danes in a very convincing 16-2 fashion.

In Group B, TSM and Gamers2 won over Copenhagen Wolves and SK Gaming, leading to them battling it out in the winner bracket. TSM directly secured their spot in the playoffs by taking out the ex-Kinguin lineup. CPH then faced SK in their last chance to remain in the tournament, as they had both been placed into the loser bracket for their losses in the first two matches. In that game nobody really got a dominating lead and it was close to the end as SK got a momentum that was unfortunately stopped by technical issues. The match was then closed out by Copenhagen Wolves at a 16-13 score line.

…but some teams gave a quite surprising performance!

EZskins and Renegades were placed into the lower bracket after having lost their first respective group matches. The Australians were highly favored to win and the ValueBet here at GosuGamers actually saw a 93% focus on Renegades. In a game that did not favor anybody until the very end, EZskins managed to secure what actually should have been a more or less safe win for Renegades.

The last match, which should have been played around midnight in London (but due to delays fell into the next day), was Copenhagen Wolves against Gamers2. Not many expected CPH to go big in that game, but on Mirage they developed a huge momentum and were able to win the map for themselves. In the decisive rounds, Gamers2 still showed and uncanny will to survive, with incredible rounds, one for example being the beautiful ace by Maikelele. But nonetheless, this was not enough as CPH went on into the playoffs with a 16-11 lead.
