The Liquid Zerg and the mYi Terran are the first to get seeds for the upcoming IEM Season VIII Sao Paulo. The main event flies to Brazil Jan 30 - Feb 2.
The Korean came through the winners bracket of the qualifier by enjoying a flawless score and 2-0'ing Stephano, Happy, Snute and MaNa. By qualifying for the main event, Jjakji will attend the first IEM of his career.
TLO came from the losers bracket and joined Jjakji in the Sao Paulo line-up. The German defeated Revenge in WR1 but fell to Liquid team-mate Snute in the next round which sent him to LR2. Getting a bye there because of BabyKnight's and Naniwa's forfeitures, TLO went on to play DreamHack champion StarDust next. A 2-0 in LR3 advanced him further and the Zerg went on to slay Kane 2-0 next, take revenge on Snute with 2-1 and power through Mana 2-0 before making it out of the qualifier.
Two more qualifier brackets will be held, one for the Americas and one for Korea and Taiwan. Dates are still unannounced.
