Miss any of the action? Don't worry, we've got you covered with a recap here.
Counter Logic Gaming vs LG Loyal - CLG wins, 2-0
Nepal started off with LG Loyal getting a quick win on Sanctum, but CLG was able to answer back with a fairly clean Shrine, only dropping one fight to win the round. LG Loyal couldn't seem to get a handle on Hydration's Pharah for most of Village while The's Mercy was able to take care of her when she needed the assistance, allowing PharMercy to take the map for CLG. Ube was able to fight back with many great plays - including Whole Hogging a charging Reinhardt into the corner - and now the map was tied with two a piece. CLG's DPS became more passive on their ultimates going into the rematch on Village, which proved to work against them when Loyal was clearly prepared for it. It was the final push on the point - and two clutch Resurrections from The - that allowed CLG to retake the point one last time and keep it to take Nepal, 3-2.
King's Row was next, with CLG almost being able to hold LG Loyal on the first point before they were able to push forward. Hidan had an unfortaunte DC that cost him his Transcendence, but it wasn't needed, as Loyal was able to become more aggressive and take CLG down faster than they could respawn, resulting in their cruising to map completion. Hydration had some moves of his own, having two big hooks that made LG Loyal keep their distance and force the team from the point for more than half of the capture, resulting in CLG winning the fight with little trouble. CLG also saved their ultimates, allowing them a full ult bank going into the alley. Despite the massive advantage, CLG wasn't able to overly capitalize on the money in the bank, resulting in them completing the map with only eight more seconds than LG Loyal had, 1:28 to 1:20.
Overtime ultimately went CLG's way, with Hydration's Whole Hog able to keep LG Loyal out of the point to win King's Row and the match.
Rogue vs LG Evil - Rogue wins, 2-0
The match started out on Lijang Tower's Control Tower, where LG Evil had a strong first push, lasting until the 99th percentile before Rogue could even respond. It was a quick turnaround from LG Evil, though, and the team was able to push Rogue back once again to take the first round. Garden had the exact opposite feel, thanks to s00n and Knoxxx's Tracer and Winston being able to keep LG Evil at bay for most of the round. Jake was almost able to pull the map back with his Pharah play, but eventually AKM and Unkoe were able to hold him back long enough for Rogue to capture the second point. LG Evil had a strong showing in Night Market, but the map went back and forth on multuiple occasions, specifically with Nicogoh's Dragon Blade getting multiple kills and Jake and Voll pressuring Rogue's supports to keep the heals from flowing.
Eventually, Rogue was able to get the edge over LG Evil with a final Team Kill that forced Rogue into Overtime. Knoxx's superb Winston play was able to throw LG Evil off of the point and secure the third point to give Rogue the lead on Lijang Tower. LG Evil's quick capture of the point and heavy stall tactics had Rogue on their toes, being forced to try to come from behind, 94-0. They failed, resulting on a final decider Control Center to figure out who would take Lijang. The final round would be close, but Rogue would hold out, 100-98, to take Lijang.
Nepal went a little bit easier for Rogue, with them being able to shutout Evil on Shrine, thanks in part to s00n's triple-kill Pulse Bomb. Village went the exact opposite way, tying up the map. Sanctum had a back-and-forth feel to it, but Rogue was just barely able to edge Evil out. Village saw Rogue coming alive, setting back LG Evil massively with an 84 percent push that forced Evil to either take the point in one or drop the match. They were forced to choose the latter and Rogue was able to close out Nepal 2-1 and shutout LG Evil on the match.
Counter Logic Gaming vs Rogue - Rogue wins, 0-2
Route 66 started with CLG bullying their way to the first point with over 4:30 on the clock. Rogue, however, was a brick wall, holding CLG the full four minutes and stopping the payload in Overtime just a few meters before it hit the second point. Nicogdh in particuar kept blocking The's Mercy from making a strong impact, resulting in Hydration having little support on his Pharah and keeping him from being overly useful in key fights. Nicogdh kept up that pressure moving into Rogue's attack phase, with Knoxxx pitching in when needed to prevent The from Ressurecting his team when multiple team fights went south. Even when The was able to resurrect, it wasn't enough to keep Rogue from pressing on. It was s00n's kill on Mikado just before he used his Sound Barrier that gave Rogue the final push they needed to close out Route 66, passing over CLG's marker to win the map 1-2.
Nepal was three for three in map choice that night, with CLG taking the point and almost running away with it, but Rogue was able to claw their way back into the round and tie it up, 99-99. s00n waited in the wings to flank Miso's Zarya, giving Rogue the opening they needed to expand their lead on Nepal by two. s00n was the hero again at the start of Village, being able to make his Pulse Bombs effective to keep Rogue consistently in the lead at the start of the map. A failed flanking attempt from the entirety of Rogue caused the tide to turn in CLG's favor, resulting in CLG being able to reach Overtime. Hydration was almost able to win the map for his team with a clutch hook on AKM as he was using a Tactical Visor, but it ultimately wasn't enough to take Rogue out, who advance to play in the Winners Bracket and sweep CLG, 0-2.
And with that, Rogue establishes a 14-0 record in the tournament and takes down CLG and will face Selfless Gaming in the NA Winner's Bracket Final while CLG, LG Loyal and LG Evil join Team Liquid, FaZe Clan and Rise Nation in the Loser's Bracket. FaZe will play against Rise to see who will face CLG in Round 2 of the Loser's Bracket, while the two Luminosity squads will face off against each other to find out who will go up against Team Liquid in the second round.
