The Nod-Krai characters were featured in a new short animation video, much to the hype of fans.

Genshin Impact is ramping up its promotion for the upcoming region set to be added to the ever-expanding world of Teyvat: Nod-Krai!

A new video, titled “Song of the Welkin Moon Teaser: Moonlit Ballad of the Night” featured a sneak peek of the moonlit region, and with it came preliminary introductions to the characters who will feature in the Nod-Krai Archon Quests, including long-awaited face reveals for some of the game's most anticipated characters!

Varka, Alice, and more to headline Nod-Krai

The characters featured in the video are:

Nicole Reeyn of the Hexenzirkel, codename "N"

Nicole is a witch and a member of the Hexenzirkel, a group of powerful witches and mages founded by Alice, Klee’s mother. Although not named at the time, Nicole first appeared at the end of the Archon Quest “As Though Morning Dew” in Interlude Chapter: Act III - Inversion of Genesis, as the mysterious voice who speaks to both the Traveler and Paimon about Wanderer’s decision to remove himself from Irminsul.

Alice describes Nicole as someone who only speaks to guide people through the truth when a change has occurred in the world. As such, Nicole has appeared time and again to guide the Traveler into “playing their part”.

Aino

Aino was first introduced in Ineffa’s drip marketing as the robot’s designer. She is affiliated with the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop.

Varka

Probably one of the most long-awaited characters in Genshin Impact, Varka is the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius and the adoptive father figure to both Rosaria and Razor. At the beginning of the game, it was revealed that Varka had gone on a long expedition with a majority of the knights, including Mika before he was sent back to Mondstadt.

Varka is known as one of the strongest people in Mondstadt, and commands high respect from those who follow or know him.

Jahoda

Not much is known about Jahoda, as she has yet to make any appearance in the game.

Durin

Another one of the Nod-Krai characters initially introduced in-game, the identity of Durin was an enduring mystery to players once Dragonspine was made available in the map. Durin is a creation of Gold, and was originally described as a shadow dragon with highly toxic blood with traces of abyssal power.

Durin was prophesied to be revived by Barbeloth, something that Albedo also later confirmed when he noted that Durin’s heart was slowly revitalising itself.

Sandrone, Fatui Harbinger. Codename: "Marionette"

Sandrone is the Seventh of the Fatui Harbingers, and is known for being engrossed in her research on Automatons. During our travels in Sumeru, Nahida confirmed that Katheryne, the lady who mans the Adventurer’s Guild front desk, is a puppet created by Sandrone.

Wanderer also notes that Sandrone has a “terrible personality” and cares about nothing outside of her own research, not shy about his displeasure about her attitude and his perceived “failure” of her experiments.

Lauma

Lauma is a beautiful half-elf, half-human character, and is a member of the Frostmoon Scions, a group who worships the “Moon Goddess” Aria, Sonnet, and Canon (AKA the Moon Sisters). Again, not much is known about Lauma as she has yet to be interacted with by any character in the game.

Nefer

Not much is known about Nefer, as she has yet to make an appearance in the game.

Kyryll Chudomirovich Flins

There is no information about Flins save that his full name is Kyrill Chudomirovich Flins.

"Moon Maiden" Columbina, Damsellete, the Third of the Fatui Harbingers

Columbina first won the hearts of players during her introduction in “Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter’s Night Lasso”. She carried herself with a morose and ethereal charm, and could be heard singing in the background.

However, every rose has its thorns, and Columbina has some incredibly deadly chops. She is known as the third strongest of the Harbingers, so much so that even Tartaglia and Wanderer have warned the traveler about her if they ever meet.

Not much is known about why Columbina is called the “Moon Maiden”, but her presence in Nod-Krai may mean her involvement with the Frostmoon Scions.

Alice of the Hexenzirkel, codename "A"

Alice has been a massive part of the Traveler’s journey so far as a detached guide and massive influence. Besides that, she is the founder of the Hexenzirkel, a renowned adventurer who has explored the world and beyond, the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide, and mother to Klee.

However, Alice is also known as the “Sustainer of the World’s Borders”, as she allowed Skirk to stay in Teyvat but entreated her not to interfere with the world’s affairs. Albedo acknowledges that Alice is a “near-omnipotent” sorceress, while Diluc acknowledges her capabilities as somewhat near to Barbatos (or Venti’s) power as an Archon.
