Vi Joins 2XKO ahead of the global closed beta in September

Vi, the Piltover Enforcer, joins the fray as 2XKO gears up for its biggest closed beta yet.
League of Legends (LoL) developer Riot Games has officially confirmed that 2XKO, their upcoming 2v2 tag-based fighting game set in the LoL universe, will enter a global Closed Beta on 9 September 2025. This was announced in a press release by Riot Games on 22 July.
Global Closed Beta launches on PC
The 2XKO Closed Beta will initially be available on PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S support coming later. The game will feature full cross-platform progression and inventory, allowing players to switch freely between platforms without losing progress or in-game items.
Once the Closed Beta begins, Riot plans to keep servers online through to the game’s official launch, offering continuous access to players during the testing period.
Those who previously participated in Alpha Lab 1 or 2, 2XKO’s earlier public playtests, will automatically gain access to the beta on PC. New players can sign up at 2xko.riotgames.com/beta to join during the beta phase.
Vi to debut at Evo Las Vegas
In addition to the Closed Beta announcement, Riot Games revealed that Vi will become a playable champion in 2XKO. The Piltover Enforcer, known from League of Legends and Arcane, will make her debut on the Evo Las Vegas showfloor from 1 to 3 August at the 2XKO booth. She will also be available in the Closed Beta version.
Vi’s addition expands the roster of fighters from the Runeterra universe and brings a fan-favourite brawler into the spotlight of Riot’s upcoming fighting game.
Formerly codenamed Project L, 2XKO is Riot’s new free-to-play 2v2 fighting game set in a reimagined Runeterra. With a focus on both team coordination and mechanical skill, the game aims to appeal to veteran fighting game players and newcomers alike. Riot has promised ongoing support for the title, along with innovation that caters to the Fighting Game Community (FGC).
