Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is having a “fated” set revival in the coming days! Fates: Festival of Beasts, originally released in 2021, is temporarily returning. This TFT Set 4.5 revival will be for the 2025 Lunar Festival, exactly on January 23. Let’s go have a look at what Riot will be bringing back!
New Prismatic Trait Mechanics
Unlocking Prismatic Traits in TFT means getting the highest synergy of champions with the same trait on your board. It isn’t available on all traits, only for a few ones, and getting it is extremely hard. You’ll probably have to level fast and focus on collecting champions rather than three-starring them. For the TFT Set 4.5 revival, you can only unlock Prismatic Traits for Cultist, Fortune, Mage, and Warlord.
Prismatic Cultist needs 11 champions with the Cultist trait on your board. Easier said than done, though. You’ll have to level to 11 and have 3 emblems to make that happen. If you pull it off, you can summon “Galio, the Endbringer” to deal massive damage and stun.
Achieving Prismatic Warlord is even harder, with only seven Warlord champions available. Meanwhile, you need 11 Warlords to unlock it and summon Azir’s Army who will push back the enemy board’s champions. Well, you better hope for Warlord emblems.
For Prismatic Mage, you’ll need 9 Mages. TFT only offers six of them, so you’ll have to work for spatulas and Mage emblems. The trait gives your team 190% Ability Power (AP) and lets them cast a lot more frequently!
Lastly, hitting Prismatic Fortune will give you tons and tons of loot. It will summon a giant Money Tree on your board, generating nearly unlimited Gold. To achieve this on TFT Set 4.5, You have to level to 10 and get 5 Fortune emblems.
Returning Set Mechanic: Chosen
For every TFT set, there’s always a unique mechanic that rules the gameplay. Now, Chosen is back for the 4.5 revival! If you need a refresher, or is completely new to this set, here’s what Chosen does:
- Chosen champions appear in every fourth shop
- They come pre-upgraded to 2-star level and adds one count to one of their traits
- Players must sell their current Chosen before they can purchase a new one
- Repeated Chosen offerings of the same champion will have different trait bonuses
- Champions need three copies available in the pool to appear as Chosen
Augments for TFT Set 4.5 Revival
For the first time in TFT Set 4.5, players can experience the set with the modern Augments system. Special set-specific Trait Augments include:
- Cult’s Offerings: Galio gains permanent health based on excess gold
- Divine Zeal: Grants attack speed to Ascended Divine units
- Mother Dragon Breath: Provides team-wide attack speed boost through dragon strikes
- Money Sprout: Enhances Fortune trait with combat or economic benefits
- The Tyrannical Warlord: Empowers the highest-damage Warlord
- Executioner’s Cut: Enables execution of low-health enemies
Lucky Lanterns and Skill Tree Features
Keep an eye out for Tahm Kench at the start of your games! The Lucky Lantern, which gave players loot after carousel rounds in the original Set 4.5, has been turned into an opening Encounter. Tahm Kench might signal that your game is a Lucky Lantern game with special rewards if you see him.
Plus, you can now climb the ranks on a new Leaderboard with the returning Skill Tree system! Show off your skills and earn Strategic Points to get the Visionary border.
