In contrast, Path of Exile 2 takes a more simple approach. It’s straightforward but needs so much attention as the full story isn’t told only through dialogues but environmental cues as well. The premise is not entirely unique, although a few twists and turns make the story more interesting. 

Loot System

Both games handle loot differently. Path of Exile 2 emphasizes quality over quantity, making each significant drop feel meaningful. However, even with generosity in high-quality items, it still feels stingy as most drops may not be suitable for your character. You’ll have to go through much more work for more drops.

Diablo 4 follows the traditional Blizzard approach with frequent loot explosions. Defeating bosses gives you tons of rewards, and occasionally, you’ll see rarer items among a huge drop of common ones. It can have the same problem with Path of Exile2, though, in that some drops might not significantly impact your character’s power.

Accessibility and Time Investment

Its complex but still easily navigated mechanics and superb audiovisual direction makes it the better choice for majority of players. However, for those who truly love challenges and buildcrafting, the Path of Exile 2 will be a clear winner.
