Struggling to figure out how to kill the executioner in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? As part of finding and assassinating The Wounded, you’ll take on The Killing Field quest. This tasks you with finding the Onryo member’s executioner and giving him a taste of his own medicine. Per the quest clues, the executioner is located in Izumi Settsu, west of Amagasaki, and in a location called Nanatsumatsu.

Once you’ve found him, you’ll need to assassinate him to complete The Killing Field quest and push on to find Wada Koretake. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find and how to kill the executioner in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Where to find the Executioner in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To find the executioner, you’ll need to travel to Nanatsumatsu. You’ll find Nanatsumatsu immediately west of Amagasaki in the Nakayama Peak sub-region, which is in the northwest of Isumi Settsu, past the large river that cuts through the region. It’s just northwest of the Amagasaki Kakurega and east of the Nishinomiya Shrine. Check the image above for the exact location with both zoomed-out and zoomed-in shots to help you track down the exact spot.

As always when trying to track quests in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, make sure to scout the objective to get a better indication of where you’re heading. In Nanatsumatsu you’ll find a small enemy camp where the executioner and several standard enemies are moments away from killing three prisoners.

We recommend approaching from the north as most of the enemies are facing south. This gives you the better chance to take them out quietly before focusing on the executioner. This is especially important because if you’re spotted the executioner will kill the prisoners. Start by taking out those near the hut, then the ones in the trenches before moving to the one near the haystack on the left. Lastly, take out the two stationed near the entrance to the camp.

Approach from behind and kill the executioner to wrap up The Killing Field quest. As part of The Wounded quest line, you’ll also have to find Mitsumune, who is located just north of Amagasaki. It’s worth doing this now while you’re close by like we did when playing for our review.
