One way you can do this is through evolution, which turns your precious Yaolings into a stronger, often bigger form with better, upgraded moves and higher stats.

This process is very simple for the most part. However, later in the game, there are more ways to evolve your Yaolings, which require some thought and some planning. If you're wondering how to trigger an evolution and give your Yaoling a power boost, we've got you covered.

How To Evolve Yaolings

Yaolings evolve by levelling up and reaching a certain level. These levels will vary from Yaoling to Yaoling, but many will follow a general trend of having their first evolution occur at a level between ten and 20, and then a second evolution after level 30 - with some Yaolings only reaching their third evolution once they hit level 60!

Some Yaolings, such as the rare Didi, will never evolve.

A Yaoling will let you know it's ready to evolve by the 'Evolve' sign underneath their portrait.

To actually evolve a Yaoling, you must have them in your party and then click on them with the Backpack open. Underneath their full-body portrait, you'll find the Evolve button.

Upon reaching their second evolution opportunity, you will be forced to choose between two different Yaolings when letting them evolve. One will be their regular evolution, while the second will be their demon form. This is the only way to acquire demon Yaolings of your own and requires that you obtain evolution stones.

These evolution stones are consumed upon their use; they are not permanent key items. Be careful when choosing which Yaolings to evolve into their demonic forms!
