The recent melee buffs in Path of Exile have pushed down the ranged Ascendancies like Deadeye. However, if you need a speed-mapper that can also farm Tier-17 maps, run Maven Invitations, and even do some occasional bossing, Deadeye is a completely viable Ascendancy. But what skill should you choose now that Tornado Shot has received a bit of a nerf?

Here's the best Path of Exile Marauder build.
PostsThe answer to that is Elemental Hit of the Spectrum, a new Transfigured gem that deals all three types of elemental damage while also inflicting ailments on nearby enemies. Since it can be used by Bows and Wands, it is the perfect skill for our Deadeye build.
What Is The Best Deadeye Build?
The main skill we use with the build is Elemental Hit of the Spectrum. However, it does deal all three types of elemental damage in PoE, which you can further boost using the Trinity Support. It also lets you shock, ignite, and freeze nearby enemies, which helps while mapping.
It deals no non-elemental damage, so there is no need to invest in Physical Damage at all.
It is an incredibly fast mapper and can also do Pinnacle Bosses with some investment or if you know the fights. Being a bow-build, it requires some investment for it to feel good, especially if you want to build into defenses.
Speaking of defenses, the build is not meant to face-tank content at all. You must pay attention to your positioning, avoid boss telegraphs, and avoid deadly map modifiers like no leech, elementalreflect, etc. You will get capped Evasion, 100 percent Spell Suppression, HP leech, Endurance Charges, and high Movement Speed. But even with all that, be prepared to get occasional one-shots if you are not careful!
You should be able to comfortably farm Tier-16s, Legion, Betrayal, Harbingers, Tier-17, and Delirium depending on your investment level. Uber Bosses should be avoided as well, unless you have multi-Mirrors invested in the build. Alternatively, you can create a second character like our Molten Strike of the Zenith Juggernaut to easily do some Uber Bosses.
We do not recommend farming Tier-17 maps until you have acquired a Headhunter.
We eventually transition into being an Omniscience build and stacking a bunch of Attributes. However, this is an ultra-endgame setup that you should only chase if you have a lot of currency to burn, since you will need some insane Corruptions on your gear as well as Mirrored items.
Below, we have shared some Path of Building links with complete gem links, leveling trees, and items from leaguestart to endgame investment:
- Leaguestart Path of Building
- Midgame Path of Building
- Omniscience Path of Building
What Are The Recommended Uniques?
While you can totally play the build without any expensive Uniques, some of them can push the build to its absolute limit. Below, you will find a list of Unique Items that we recommend for the build:
Helmet
You can start by using Rat’s Nest and eventually switch to Black Sun Crest when you do the Omniscience swap.
Amulet
At the beginning, you can use a Hyrri’s Truth to get Culling Strike, free Precision, and a lot of Crit. Multi. However, as you transition to the endgame setup, Crystallised Omniscience is the BiS.
Body Armor
Hyrri’s Ire is the best in slot for this build since it gives you a lot of Dexterity, Spell Suppression, Evasion, and flat Cold Damage.
Rings
Not needed, but you can use a Kalandra’s Touch to copy your other ring if it is good enough. If you need to be more zoomy, you can also use Death Rush.
Belt
Headhunter if you want to farm all the content comfortably. Before you can afford a Headhunter, however, Bisco’s Leash is a very nice belt to use.
Flasks
Dying Sun for even better clear speed and Progenesis for a bit of tankiness.
Jewels
The Interrogation, Thread of Hope, Watcher’s Eye, and a Lethal Pride.
How To Level The Build
Like any other build in Path of Exile, you have a few options when it comes to leveling. We recommend staying on Galvanic Arrow until you can get Rain of Arrows, and then sticking to it until you are prepared to transition to Elemental Hit of the Spectrum. Alternatively, you can also use Lightning Arrow. Both are perfectly fine to use. You will find all the required links in the table:
Level
Main Links
Single Target
Level 1 to Level 4
Galvanic Arrow + Mirage Archer + Pierce
N/A
Level 4 to Level 12
Galvanic Arrow + Mirage Archer + Added Cold Damage
Shrapnel Ballista + Added Cold Damage + Faster Attacks
Level 12 to Level 24
Rain of Arrows + Mirage Archer + Added Cold Damage
Shrapnel Ballista + Added Cold Damage + Faster Attacks
Level 24 to Level 40
Rain of Arrows + Mirage Archer + Added Cold + Faster Attacks
Shrapnel Ballista + Added Cold Damage + Faster Attacks
Level 40 to Maps
Rain of Arrows + Mirage Archer + Added Cold + Faster Attacks
Artillary Ballista +Added Cold Damage + Faster Attacks + Elemental Damage with Attacks
We also recommend that you use Auras like Herald of Thunder, Herald of Ice, and Haste as they will significantly boost your clear speed. For your movement skills, you can use skills like Frostblink, Blink Arrow, and even Flame Dash if you can meet the Intelligence requirements. Lastly, do not forget to link Sniper’s Mark with Mark on Hit as well as Manaforged Arrows with Frenzy to generate Frenzy Charges that can be incredibly helpful during the leveling.
As you are leveling, do not forget to upgrade your weapon if you feel like your damage is lacking. Aside from this, having a good amount of HP, capped Resistances, and a little Movement Speed will help a lot.
Also, be sure to use your Crafting Bench. You can use it to get a whole lot of stats. on your gear.
If you manage to find a few Chaos Orbs while leveling up, there are some cheap Uniques that you can use:
Helmet
Goldrim, Rat’s Nest, Thrillsteel
Body Armor
Tabula Rasa, Thousand Ribbons
Gloves
Shadows and Dust
Boots
Three-step Assault, Seven-league Step, Wanderlust
Amulet
Karui Ward
Rings
Le Heup of All, Tasalio’s Sign
Belt
Prismweave, Bisco’s Leash
Weapon / Quiver
Hyrri’s Bite, The Poised Prism, Silverbranch, Quill Rain
We also recommend helping Alira to easily cap out your Resistances since the build uses quite a few Uniques — at least until you have farmed enough currency to cap them with your gear. As for Pantheon, Soul of the Brine King and Soul of Abberath are good options. However, feel free to switch them around if the build needs something in particular.
Ascendancy Order, Explained
You will need to Ascend as Deadeye in order to play the build. Deadeye gives us a lot of Projectile Speed, Projectile Damage, increased effects of Marks, and most importantly, two additional projectiles.
You can also play it on the Warden if you wish to experiment with Tinctures, but Deadeye is easily the superior choice because of better mapping.
That said, this is the order you will select the Ascendancy Nodes:
- Gathering Winds
- Far Shot
- Endless Munitions
- Focal Point
