Plan For Your Flower Layout Before You Plant
It will not be the end of the world if you plant two or more plants too close to each other, but it will make it more difficult to tend to the garden if you don't give each plant ample space. Estimate how close to each other two or more plants can be by taking their size into account.
Rose bushes, for example, are a mess of flowers and stalks, and plating them too close together makes it difficult to see the ground, which means you might water improperly. It will also make taking cuttings way more imprecise.
Since the game is not heavy on punishment, you will be able to remove plants and replant them elsewhere, but it is best to save yourself trouble by planning ahead.
Take Cuttings During The Daytime
Garden life lets you tend to the garden at night without passing out and losing money or progress, as opposed to most cozy farming and gardening games. However, pruning during daytime hours is the most efficient way to get several of the same cuttings in one go because flowers don't grow at night.
This will help you avoid having to spend many in-game days completing the same request.
Don't Buy Multiple Of The Same Free Tools
Unless you plan to place them around the garden instead of keeping them in your inventory for easy access, multiple free tools will clog your storage space, which can begin to look a little tight if you use your inventory to store things you will never touch again.
This applies to tools, the watering can, and bug spray, which is refillable. We learned this one the hard way.
Be Careful When You Pick Rocks Up
Not because something terrible might happen, but because it might really mess with the visuals of your garden. Most rocks can be found half-buried in the ground, and once you pick them up, you won't be able to put them back as you found them and you'll lose the more realistic half-buried look.
Pick up the rocks you will use for crafting, but unless you want a bunch of tall, awkwardly placed boulders everywhere, leave the rest of them alone.
Pet The Cat
Which cat? Every cat. Garden Life understands what truly makes a game cozy.
While the game has limited explorable areas, you will find at least a couple of cats around town, just like the one napping away in the shed. Enjoy the height of the cozy experience by taking some time to pet them. They will purr.
