Cyberpunk 2077: How To Buy And Upgrade Your Apartment

Here's everything you need to know about buying and upgrading apartments in Cyberpunk 2077.

Posts

Specifically, on top of the starter apartment, there are four new locations you can choose to move to, each offering a different aesthetic, location, and overall vibe. If you are curious about which apartment best suits your playstyle, check out the list below.

Updated on March 21, 2025, by Christopher Padilla: V's adventures take him all around Night City and the surrounding badlands, and they have plenty of options to rest their heads. Since the release of Phantom Liberty, we can add the Kress Street Hideout to the mix, though your restfulness there is...debatable. We're also adding an apartment that only shows up at the very end of the game, and only in some endings.

7 Kress Street Hideout

Location

Dogtown, Pacifica (Phantom Liberty DLC)

Unlock Condition

Complete "Lucretia My Reflection"

Cost

N/A

The Kress Street Hideout is the worst place where you can put up your feet and get some rest, looking more like a setting in a post-apocalyptic horror movie than a liveable apartment. Nonetheless, this is where you'll be getting your rest in the Dogtown district where the Phantom Liberty DLC takes place. There's not much style to speak of, unless urban decay is your thing, but it's not completely without amenities. Whether you can use those amenities without getting tetanus is something else.

You can get lights and electricity easy enough as a part of the main quest, which gets you a radio and your computer. There's a mattress on the ground for when you need to sleep. If you're desperate enough to shower here, you'll have to do some sleuthing to get the water back running first. Canny use of your x-ray vision solves that mystery quickly. At least the view from here is decent, and if it's good enough for the President to spend a night in, it's good enough for you.

6 Northside Apartment

Location

Northshire, Watson

Unlock Condition

Complete "Playing For Time," check the EZEstates website on your computer.

Cost

$5,000

It may come as a surprise that the starter apartment is not the worst option, but, as it turns out, there are many places in Night City that are less than savory to live in. Take the Northside Apartment for example, which actually costs you 5,000 eddies more than the starter apartment, while providing less space and dirtier furniture.

The Northside apartment is located within the industrial district towards the north of the map, meaning that you will still be located in Wattson, but you will not be centrally located to most of the quests in the game. Luckily, like every other apartment in Night City, you will still have access to essential pieces of furniture, such as the wardrobe and weapon stash. These will allow you to fully customize your outfits, and store any unwanted guns in a safe space.

While this apartment is the epitome of grungy, it can still work if you are playing as a character from the outskirts of Night City, or simply want to live in a run-down loft. Sadly, the cost of this apartment means that you will be paying for a downgraded space, so you should only really move here if you have a specific life path or storyline planned.

5 V's Apartment

Location

Little China, Watson

Unlock Condition

Default Apartment

Cost

N/A

While this apartment may have some drawbacks, you certainly won't beat the price. V's Apartment is automatically unlocked during the tutorial of the game, meaning you can access this space completely free of charge. Since this location is unlocked so early into the game, the apartment is not exactly massive but still provides the essential bathroom, wardrobe, stash, computer, and bedroom. Furthermore, this location also has a pretty pleasing view — just remember to open the shades whenever you are in the apartment.

Non-lethal combat in Cyberpunk 2077 is a woefully underexplained mechanic — this guide should teach you all you need to know about it.

You can actually purchase a 10,000 eddie customization package for V's apartment, which changes how the interior is decorated. There are six different options, each changing the materials used throughout the apartment, while leaving the floor plan completely unchanged. Overall, these are some expensive options that only really change the color palette of the apartment.

Finally, while this apartment is free, it can be quite a hassle to actually enter. Specifically, you will have to walk up multiple staircases, ride through an elevator, and traverse through crowded hallways just to get into your apartment, so you may find yourself avoiding this destination at all costs.

4 Corpo Plaza Apartment

Location

Corporate Center, City Center

Unlock Condition

Complete "Playing For Time," check the EZEstates website on your computer.

Cost

$110,000

The Corpo Plaza Apartment is located in the extravagant City Center of Night City and boasts the same brutalist and modern aesthetics found throughout the corporate lifestyle. Specifically, this apartment lacks any of V's personal touches and instead looks more like something out of a Night City Architectural magazine. In lieu of any vibrant colors or personal items, the entire space is void of emotion and simply features hyper-modern furnishing.

Furthermore, this apartment is the most expensive living option in the game, setting you back by 55,000 eddies. For such a large amount of cash, you would think this apartment would boast better views and furnishing, but there is just simply a complete lack of personality inside the entire space. However, if you are playing as someone enthralled in the corporate lifestyle, then this apartment will perfectly match your character's storyline.

3 Japantown Apartment

Location

Japantown, Westbrook

Unlock Condition

Complete "Playing For Time," check the EZEstates website on your computer.

Cost

$15,000

For just the small price of 15,000 eddies, you can move into a sizable apartment in the heart of Japantown. Since this space is located on the eastern side of Night City, the apartment itself is decorated with a Japan-inspired aesthetic, which provides beautiful pieces of traditional furniture that clash perfectly with modern technologies. Furthermore, there is a large variety of interactable objects in this apartment, such as cigarettes, incense, blinds, and a guitar.

As always, this apartment comes complete with essential pieces of furniture, such as a bedroom, mirror, and a stash to store any unwanted items. Overall, while this may not be the largest apartment in the game, there are no other living quarters that are cozier than this Japantown residence. With that being said, if you do choose to move here, then remember to arm yourself before you purchase the apartment since it is located in an unsavory area, and you may find yourself getting attacked by a cyperpsycho before you can rest at home.

2 The Glen Apartment

Location

The Glen, Heywood

Unlock Condition

Complete "Playing For Time," check the EZEstates website on your computer.

Cost

$80,000

The Glen's Apartment is perhaps the most unique building in the entire game, since it combines both sleek and dystopic aesthetics to create one stunning piece of architecture. While outside, you may notice there is a large population of homeless civilians, and a plethora of dangerous crimes and activities to partake in. However, the inside of the building is a complete contrast to the exterior, since it features secure and calming modern aesthetics.

Furthermore, the building itself is actually an old brick warehouse that was converted into apartments, complete with a harsh metal frame that wraps around the building like a cage. Once you enter the actual apartment, you will be stunned to find out that this isn't even the most expensive apartment in the game.

At just 40,000 eddies, you'll unlock sweeping views of the city and a wide-open industrial space that caters to your every need. The location of this apartment is also incredibly ideal since it is located just under the center of the entire map, meaning you will have an equal traveling distance to wherever you may choose to drive.

Finally, unlike some of the other apartments, you don't have to spend a great deal of time traveling up to your apartment, meaning you can quickly stop by whenever you please.

1 V's Penthouse

Location

Watson, Little China

Unlock Condition

Beat Adam Smasher while pursuing "The Sun" ending.

Cost

N/A

You've made it: the big time, and you have it all. Fame, respect, more eddies than you can spend and of course, this swank-ass apartment. It's a shame that you're also living on borrowed time. Strictly speaking, you don't 'get' V's Penthouse, but it does belong to them in the Path of Glory pre-ending mission and is presumably still theirs at the end of the game.

You can actually visit this apartment outside this sequence, since it actually exists in the city proper. Find it if you want a better look inside and outside. You can't actually buy it though.

You can explore your digs, have a drink at your bar, enjoy the beauty of the place, and even call up a romantic partner for a chat. Unfortunately, however, time waits for no one and V's is running short. They're off to the next mission and they're doing it in style, leaving you uncertain whether they'll ever come back to this place.
