Konami’s highly regarded psychological horror series, Silent Hill, is a favorite among gamers worldwide. The highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2 is set to launch on October 8, 2024. This reimagining honors the eerie narrative of James Sunderland’s journey to the haunted town of Silent Hill, Maine, offering a fresh take on the iconic 2001 original.

As the release date approaches, fans are eager to confirm whether the game will be accessible on PC as well. Fortunately, the answer is a resounding yes: the remake of Silent Hill 2 will be available for purchase on Steam.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Launching on PC and PS5 on October 8, 2024

Konami has officially announced that players will be able to immerse themselves in James Sunderland’s story on both PC and PlayStation 5 starting October 8, 2024. This release will initially be exclusive to these two platforms for at least a year, meaning that Xbox Series X and S players will have to wait until late 2025 to join in on the horror.

Utilizing Unreal Engine 5, the remake will maintain fidelity to its source material while enriching aspects such as the game map and gameplay mechanics. The character models have been upgraded to meet today’s gaming standards while still honoring the distinctive traits that endeared them to fans back in 2001. The minimum and recommended PC specifications for the Silent Hill 2 remake have also been released, ensuring players know if their system can handle it.

For those considering the deluxe version of the game, it will be available two days earlier, unlocking on October 6, 2024. Pre-ordering the Deluxe edition of the Silent Hill 2 remake grants access to the base game along with early access, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and two collectible masks for James to wear.
