Overview of Getaway Artist Enhancements in Destiny 2

  • The recent Arc buffs introduced in Heresy significantly enhance Getaway Artist Warlock builds, particularly in terms of damage resistance and accuracy debuffs.
  • The newly implemented Bolt Charge mechanic further amplifies the damage potential of Getaway Artist setups.
  • Changes within Destiny 2’s latest episode bolster the effectiveness of these builds, facilitating successful solo playthroughs in the newly released dungeon.

As we dive into 2025, Destiny 2 continues to evolve, offering Guardians an array of customization options for their builds. Bungie has invested heavily in improving buildcrafting, demonstrated by recent enhancements to Arc subclasses through Heresy, along with significant adjustments to Stasis and the introduction of Prismatic. While the latest installment does not introduce new Exotic armor, previously established Exotics have received vital improvements. With the substantial buffs to the Arc subclass, one build that previously dominated the landscape in The Final Shape has been further enhanced.

The universe of Destiny 2 sees ongoing shifts with each new release. The Final Shape revolutionized the build structure with the introduction of Prismatic and Exotic class items, but Bungie has not neglected the standard subclasses. This approach ensures that builds remain relevant and powerful, fostering diversity as players transition into the Frontiers expansion. Following the Heresy update, Getaway Artist Warlock builds have thrived, indirectly benefiting from crucial modifications to the Arc kit, despite the absence of certain Artifact mods.

Elevating Warlock Builds: The Impact of Heresy’s Arc Buffs

The Getaway Artist builds were previously very effective in The Final Shape, mainly due to the introduction of the now-obsolete Artifact mod, Galvanic Armor, which offered a 30% damage resistance to Guardians equipped with Arc or Prismatic subclasses while maintaining the Amplified buff. This effective synergy was easily achievable with the use of Facet of Purpose and similar mechanics. However, the Heresy update has significantly changed the dynamics, improving the functionality of Amplified with new features:

  • 15% increase in damage resistance when Amplified.
  • Reduced accuracy for enemies targeting while Amplified.

These enhancements position Amplified as a much more significant benefit than its previous role as a mere movement speed booster. The Eddy Current perk has also received buffs, making it an attractive addition to builds that utilize Amplified, particularly with Heresy’s new Psychopomp grenade launcher. For Warlocks employing the Getaway Artist Exotic, consuming an Arc grenade transforms it into an autonomous turret while also activating the Amplified state, yielding powerful results.

In the previous meta of The Final Shape, Getaway Artist was favored for its user-friendliness and the straightforward proccing of Amplified related to Galvanic Armor. This combination allowed for a formidable 100 Resilience and the Facet of Protection to aid in survival. While the new damage resistance via Amplified might not reach the levels of Galvanic Armor, it does present the advantage of lowering enemy accuracy. This, coupled with its inherent 15% damage resistance that does not rely on an Artifact mod, solidifies the effectiveness of this build even in Heresy.

Why Getaway Artist Builds Are More Effective in Heresy

A major addition in Heresy is the introduction of Bolt Charge, an Arc mechanic that accumulates stacks up to ten before unleashing a powerful bolt of lightning on the target when an ability is used against them. This enhancement aligns seamlessly with the Arc subclass and works beautifully with Prismatic, taking Getaway Artist builds to new heights in terms of damage potential. Many players have successfully soloed the new Sundered Doctrine Dungeon using this robust build, evidencing its elevated strength beyond what was achievable in The Final Shape.
