Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Hits Milestone of Seven Million Sales

Focus Entertainment has recently announced a remarkable achievement for its flagship title, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which has now surpassed seven million copies sold since its launch.

Rapid Sales Growth Following Launch

Launched on September 9, 2024, this third-person shooter from Saber Interactive captivated gamers immediately. In a stunning reveal just a day after its release, Focus Home disclosed that two million copies had been sold. By late November, this figure soared to five million, solidifying its status as a blockbuster title.

Upcoming Developments: Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3

Given the game’s immense popularity, the emergence of a sequel seemed inevitable. In March, Focus Entertainment confirmed that Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3 is already in development, promising to deliver even grander-scale battles and immersive gameplay.

New Features in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2

The journey doesn’t end for players of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, as the game continues to receive robust support. Announced during the recent 2025 Skulls event, a brand-new Siege Mode is set to be introduced in the coming weeks.

This new mode invites players to engage in fierce battles within a well-defended Imperial stronghold on Kadaku, besieged by relentless waves of Tyranids and Chaos forces. The stronghold features three key sectors: Defensive Positions, the Arsenal, and the Control Room. Players will confront five waves of increasingly challenging enemies in each sector, returning to earlier positions to regroup and fortify defenses.

Strategic Gameplay Elements

As enemy attacks escalate in difficulty, the gameplay also incorporates strategic pauses. After each enemy wave, players enjoy a brief intermission of around one minute, allowing for critical planning and resource management, clearly outlined through the user interface. Players are tasked with dynamic objectives, such as capturing key locations or retrieving important data from fallen comrades, which enhance the tactical depth of the game and provide necessary resources for survival.

Resource Management and Support Mechanics

Players can acquire valuable resources through successful combat and by completing Side Objectives in Siege Mode. These resources can be exchanged at the Fortress Shop to:

  • Purchase ammunition, medical stims, equipment, armor enhancements, and guardian relics, akin to items available in Operations Mode.
  • Summon specialized Space Marines for targeted assistance and unique benefits, with a limit of one summoned unit per player.
  • Deploy Cadian Troopers to bolster firepower during crucial moments.
  • Collaboratively pool resources to unleash the devastating potential of a Dreadnought.
