New Voice Actor for Tingyun in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 Update
The recent 2.7 update of Honkai: Star Rail brought a significant change as the English voice actor for the character Tingyun has been replaced. This update affects both the existing four-star version of Tingyun and the upcoming five-star character, Fugue, scheduled for release.
Introducing Anya Floris
The character is now voiced by Anya Floris, whose contribution has been officially confirmed on the Honkai: Star Rail website. Anya portrays Tingyun as a member of the Xianzhou Alliance.
The patch notes detail this change, but do not specify the reason behind the switch, simply noting the addition of a new actor for the four-star Harmony version of the character.
Previous Voice Actor: Laci Morgan
Prior to this update, Tingyun was voiced by Laci Morgan, an experienced actress known for her roles in various video games, including the character Quiry in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and several avatars in Shadowverse.
Anya Floris: A Familiar Voice
Fans may recognize Anya Floris from her recent work in Card-en-Ciel produced by Inti Creates, where she voiced characters like Cela. Additionally, she lent her vocal talents to the theme song of Chocobo GP, showcasing her versatility.
Precedent of Voice Actor Changes in the Game
This alteration is not an isolated incident within Honkai: Star Rail. Similar changes have previously occurred with major characters such as Argenti and Mr. Tail, who were both initially voiced by Adam Michael Gold before their voices were switched. Moreover, this update also involved the omission of voice lines for characters like Himeko and Robin in new story segments.
