For some time now, rest mode has been viewed as an integral aspect of the PlayStation ecosystem. In anticipation of the PS5’s launch, Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, emphasized its role in promoting energy efficiency—aligning with the company’s broader sustainability goals. Though rest mode does help mitigate the power consumption of the PS5 in comparison to its predecessors, a substantial number of users remain hesitant to adopt this feature.
