Nintendo and Square Enix: A Milestone Fusion in Gaming

Nintendo has partnered with Square Enix to unveil a significant entry in the Creator’s Voice video series. This latest installment has attracted considerable attention as it marks the first collaboration between Naoki Hamaguchi, the Director of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Nintendo. While it remains unclear whether upcoming titles like FFVII Rebirth will be part of this collaboration, Hamaguchi expressed confidence in the Switch 2’s capabilities, stating that it possesses “enough power to run”the acclaimed remake series.

A Special Journey for Hamaguchi

In the video, Hamaguchi shared a heartfelt reflection on his two-decade-long journey in game development. He remarked,

“I’ve actually been developing games for 24 years. But this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to create something for a Nintendo system, and that’s very special to me. And the fact that it happens to be the Final Fantasy VII remake series, considering the original game gave me the opportunity to pursue a career in the games industry, makes me feel like it was fate.”

High Expectations for the Switch 2 Release

The remainder of the Creator’s Voice video assures gamers that the Nintendo Switch 2 version will maintain the high standards set by its predecessors. Hamaguchi confirmed that the team would not compromise on quality, stating, “We can recreate Midgar with full specs.” He highlighted the advanced technical specifications of the Switch 2, which enables gameplay in both handheld and TV modes, contributing to the decision that it would have sufficient power to support the Final Fantasy VII remake series.
