Now that the regional finals of the first WCS season are over and done with, the groups for the global finals are set and done. To many people's dismay two of the three remaining foreigners were seeded into the same group.
After a very intense and exciting first season of the new and revamped World Championship Series, which many initially dismissed as being rushed by the initiators, the 16 finalists are ready to storm the Yognsan eSports Stadium and the Jamsil Arena in Seoul, South Korea guns ablazing. Starting this Friday, June 7th, the qualified players will show the best current StarCraft 2 has to offer.
What many feared prior to the tournament came true though; the regional restrictions, or lack thereof, allowed Korean players to reign over all three separate tourneys. While the likes of DIMAGA, TLO and Stephano had strong showings in the European leg, none of their American counterparts managed to break the Korean dominance. In fact, the two players closest to making it throught the qualification process, were Snute and mOOnGLaDe, Norwegian and Australian respectively. Hence the only three foreigners in the Season Finals are the aforementioned Europeans.
