The first qualifier for the fourth season of ESL Major Series ended yesterday, with Rafal "GOsia" Kontowicz defeating Madalin Ionut "UltraLinG" Bulancea in the postponed fourth quarter final.
Dutch Zerg player Jos "ret" de Kroon also qualified after defeating Krystopf "Draco" Nalepka in his quarter final. Draco had earlier defeated the second-seeded player Carlo "ClouD" Giannacco only to suffer a defeat to the Zerg player and miss the Top 4 spot.
A top-seeded Jian "IefNaij" Fei Wang did not disappoint and went through the upper side of the brackets undefeated, crowning his comparably easy run to the quarters with a win over Marius "HoRRoR" Overhageböck.
The last player to grab a spot was last season's playoff snubbler Eugin "Strelok" Oparyshev. The Ukrainian Terran player came out victorious in a Terran mirror battle against Dmitry "Advokate" Demichev.
The second qualifier cup will be played this Sunday, March 22 at 20:00 CET.
