[s]interview[/s]

GosuGamers continues its interview spree of the Chinese StarCraft players. This time it's the 21 year old Zerg player Ji Wen Jun, also known as Beckham. As usual we try to find out how much they know about our community, before teaching our community about them.

Do you know GosuGamers? What do you think of their ranking?
I dont really go there, I only know it's a western website about StarCraft. And about the ranking, I think the Europeans do not know the strength of Chinese that well, otherwise there should be a lot more Chinese flags up there.

It is because we only added in Chinese players not long ago, probably last year October, and even now a lot of people are against fact we have added in Chinese players because of lag and unable to play with western community. Right now you are ranked in #86, do you think you can do better?
Yes I agree the fact the internet in China causes big problems. So I really hope we can upgrade the internet technology. I didn't even know I am in the ranking, I am not even sure who is in there. But according to my own experience playing with the Europeans, I think if I do my best I can get into top 10 quite easily.

Top 10 is filled with gosus, and three of them are top Chinese players. So what do you think of your ranking in the Chinese BW community?
I think all the top progamers in China right now are equal in terms of skill, it is mostly depending on their performace and luck in the result of the tournaments.

What about your race match ups? How are they balanced?
My ZvP is slightly stronger, my ZvZ and ZvT are about the same. Only specific stronger one, not really any weaker one.

Which team are you currently in?
Beckham: S.Top is my clan to play for fun. I am in Team Marconi, which is a professional e-sport team, and the internet connection there is pretty good too. It's not as great at the PGL training camp connection that Lx has, but still not bad.

What do you think of the growth of e-sport in China now? Do you think it will exceed Korea one day?
I think the e-sport in China is growing rather slowly. It is because the government doesn't support it, not like in Korea, everyone supports it. So the development of e-sport would depend on how much the government support.

What do you personally feel about it? Are you optimistic about it? Would you like to go to Korea if you have the chance?
Beckham: Personal feelings are not reliable, all I have to say is wait and watch. Go to Korea is every Starcraft players' dream goal!

Do you have any goals in your starcraft career? Short termed ones and long termed ones?
Beckham: Not really any short term or long term, my one and only goal is No.1 Champion in China! For WCG My plan right now is win the group league first, then win the national league!

Do you know KOTH at GosuGamers? Sen has defended his title once again, and Lx said he was interested in challenging next time. What do you think about that?
Lx has a better chance of winning. I'd like to participate too, but I am afraid I might have lag. I am not really interested in playing Sen, but if I have the chance, I'd like to play with Lx a lot more in the year 2007.

What do you think its your biggest problem or obstacle in Starcraft?
Everyone's biggest problem or obstacle is the player himself. You have to concentrate and play your best in every match, doesn't matter who your opponent is.

Are you interested in joining some European teams and play with people in Western community?
Yes of course, actually I am looking for a western team to join.

Thank you for the interview, anything else you want to say?
Please support me everyone, thanks!
