
The Russian eSports powerhouse ventures into Blizzard's CCG by picking up eleven players to form a Hearthstone division.
Founded in 2004, Empire is among the oldest and most renowned eSports organizations in CIS and Europe. Focusing on multiple disciplines, Empire are currently operating League of Legends, Dota 2 and StarCraft 2 rosters and, effective today, a Hearthstone division.
The team currently consists of eleven players, some of who will be very known to those following the weekly competitive scene. Names like Drako, Nazgul, Setzer and GeneraL stand out and who, together with their team-mates, boast a total of 64 top 4 finishes in various tournaments.
"I'm happy to welcome our Hearthstone team to our organization," said Team Empire manager Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov. "The game is gaining popularity daily and has found its own fanbase in CIS. There are more and more tournaments being held.
