Marvel Rivals’ main storyline takes a big leap forward in Season 4.

NetEase Games has officially revealed the contents of Marvel Rivals Season 4: Heart of the Dragon, a jam-packed new season that includes new playable heroes Daredevil and Angela, a new Convergence Mode map, gameplay changes, and more. The main storyline, which concerns Doctor Doom’s sinister plans to manipulate the timestream entanglement to his own ends, is also moving forward.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 adds new playable heroes: Daredevil and Angela

Much like previous seasons, Season 4: Heart of the Dragon is adding two brand-new playable heroes to Marvel Rivals. In the first half of Season 4, the game is getting Angela, the Hand of Heven, Thor’s sister, and an ex-assassin from Asgard. In Season 4.5, the playable roster will once again expand with the addition of Daredevil, the man without fear.

While NetEase isn’t quite ready to talk about Daredevil yet, it has confirmed that Angela will be a Vanguard character, thus breaking the game’s recent run of adding new Duelist characters. Angela can shape her Ichors, which are a type of liquid metal, into various weapons in combat. She can take flight and dive into enemy lines with a spear in hand, or morph her weapon into a shield to block incoming damage. She can also descend from above with dual axes to crush her foes.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 also sees the main story return to Doctor Doom at long last, following the villain’s evil machinations in Season 0. The Timestream Entanglement has drawn the Capital Cities of Heaven, led by K’un-Lun, together to form the Heart of Heaven. K’un-Lun’s Immortal Dragon, Shou-Lao, is now frozen in time, leaving the Heart of Heaven vulnerable to Doom’s schemes.

Meanwhile, Angela and Daredevil are drawn into a conflict that concerns a mysterious baby adopted by Iron Fist.

More new content in Marvel Rivals Season 4

Season 4 is also adding a new Convergence Mode map set in K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven, along with returning modes Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast as permanent additions. A new game mode with no restrictions on duplicate heroes called Free Fight is also coming, along with a Conquest (Annihilation) mode where players score points with KOs. All of these modes will be included in a new Arcade Mode hub.

Additionally, a Favourites bar is coming to the character selection screen, allowing players to more easily pick their mains during a match.

As for buffs, Doctor Strange, Peni Parker, and Thor are getting slight combat buffs. Scarlet Witch and Blade are also getting buffed to stay more competitive in battle. Luna Snow, a character who has notably gone without nerfs for some time now, will have her Ultimate ability duration shortened.
