StarLadder has just announced the thirteenth edition of their StarSeries with the increased prize pool and a whole new format.

The thirteenth season of StarLadder's prestigious tournament was just announced. The biggest change to previous season is the increased prize pool and a whole new format of the event. The new season of StarSeries will feature a total of $68,000 prize pool where $18,000 is reserved for the travel support of the LAN participants.

The new format will see a two GSL stages, where the teams will have a chance to quickly get themselves in the next stage by scoring only two wins. However, it also means that there is only one second chance for those who lose the opening matches of the groups. The top two teams of each group will proceed to the next group stage where they will be fighting for the six LAN spots. This means that the top three placed teams of each group in the second stage will earn a ticket for the LAN finals which will be held at CyberArena in Kiev, Ukraine.

The new season of StarSeries will kick off with the first matches on Monday the 18th of May and the more details on the groups will be released tomorrow.
