Florida is unique in allowing anyone over 18 to enter a poker tournament, so 19 year-old John Riordan made the most of his opportunity and became the youngest ever winner of a World Series of Poker Circuit event win. Riordan, from nearby Palm Beach Gardens won $210,180 for outlasting a field of 712 players in the $1,600 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em main event in Palm Beach at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.
Riordan, an online poker pro who began playing free-money games at 13 and now plays $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha online, entered Tuesday's final as the youngest WSOPC finalist in tour history and dominated play throughout.
Due to his youth, he will not be able to in the $1 million WSOPC National Championship freeroll in Las Vegas this May, but he does collect the prize money and circuit ring for his accomplishment.
