16 teams are drawn into four groups to compete for the four slots of the ESL Pro League and $2000
The ESL Major League is a preliminary division where teams can work their way into the Pro League. It allows 32 teams to have the opportunity to advance to the top level and have a shot at bigger prize money. Over the last two months the first group stage came to a close and now transitions into the second group stage where the remaining teams will compete.
The groups have double elimination bracket system with eight teams from the orifinal sixteen advancing into the playoff bracket. The top four will grab $500 each along with the opportunity of entering the ESL Pro League which boasts a $48,000 prize pool.
The first rounds of this group stage will take place on 19th and 20th of January, followed by winners/losers matches on the 26th and 27th. The decider matches will be played on 9th and 10th of February. The playoffs are expected to be begin in the second half of February and run until early March.
