Gamers 2 went undefeated the entire tournament, until they faced Team Liquid in the Grand Finals.
Something happend to Team Liquid after they lost against PuszekTeam in the first round. It took their status as the favored team to win being challenged by such an unlikely team to send the Spanish team into overdrive, and as a result, they tore through the losers brackets in dominant fashion. After an extremely tense series of games vs Na'Vi providing their first game loss since Puszek, it was Team Liquid started to look favored again.
And with Gamers2 waiting in the winners bracket, their chances looked even better. While any other team would be well within their right to fear a grand finals against Gamers2, Team Liquid has a winning record against them in competitive matches. Gamers2 previously confirmed Team Liquid to be their biggest rivals, stating that simply "always beat us", and it certainly looked that way watching the Grand Finals. Gamers2 lost 0-3 and the razor sharp play that landed them on top of the winners bracket was ineffective vs Team Liquid's dominant Anub'arak and Illidan play.
With their win, Team Liquid walks away with $3,000's and five brand new Alienware x51 CPUs, one of which that we know for certain VortiX will be using. Gamers2 is awarded $1,500 and a slew of Roccat mouses, Keyboards, and Headphones. And with a respectable third, ASH takes $500's and more premium Roccat PC accessories!
However, the biggest prize up for grabs may just be the automatic seeding for the next Enter the Storm Cup #3, as the minimum prize pool is already set at $10,000. You can expect to see the following teams competing again, for even greater prizes and glory:
Enter the Storm 3 pre-seeded teams
