Alternate's Socke put up another solid tournament performance, advancing to the semi-finals of IEM Cologne. He defeated Kas 3-1 and will await the winner of Nerchio and Puma.
Socke dropped only a single map to Kas' 1-base bio aggression in the first set but came out strong in the following ones, winning three in a row to advance to the top 4. Socke punished Kas with lightning fast feedbacks and perfectly split protoss ball to avoid EMP on Shakuras and got the set advantage on Terminus with proxy void ray into chargelot/archon build. The German sealed the deal on Shattered Temple with a 1-base 5-gate all-in, slapping Kas with a big nasty protoss fist.
A top 4 finish guarantees Socke at least $1,250 and to get a shot at the bigger money he will have to go through either Nerchio or Puma who are to play next on the main stage.
