The Grand Cayman Chest is one of the more unusual hidden treasures in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Unlike most collectibles, it can’t be reached through climbing or parkour. Instead, players must solve a small environmental puzzle by paying attention to dialogue from nearby NPCs. Completing it rewards a unique collectible for Edward’s estate.

Where to Find the Grand Cayman Chest

Grand Cayman is located at (361, 300) on the western edge of the Cruz region, northwest of Kingston. If you haven’t visited the island before, it will appear as an undiscovered location marked with a question mark until you dock the Jackdaw.

After arriving, head to the western side of the island. You’ll spot a blue treasure chest resting on a narrow rock ledge across a gap, seemingly impossible to reach. A drunken man standing nearby hints at the solution during an argument with his wife.

How to Reach the Chest

The nearby conversation reveals that the intoxicated man somehow ended up on the ledge after drinking five cups of rum at the local tavern. Edward can recreate the same sequence.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the tavern in the center of Grand Cayman.
  2. Speak with the bartender.
  3. If hostile townsfolk interrupt, defeat them before continuing.
  4. Interact with the bottle on the bar and purchase drinks for 25 Reales each.
  5. Continue until Edward has consumed five cups of rum.

After the fifth drink, Edward will black out.

Open the Grand Cayman Chest

When Edward regains consciousness, he’ll wake up directly on the otherwise inaccessible ledge beside the chest.

Open the chest to receive the Yoke-Form Vessel, a decorative collectible that can be displayed at Edward’s mansion in Great Inagua. While it doesn’t provide gameplay benefits, it contributes to your collection of estate decorations and is one of the island’s hidden secrets.

The Grand Cayman Chest is a good example of how Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced occasionally rewards exploration and observation over traditional platforming. If a treasure seems impossible to reach, listening to nearby NPCs may reveal the answer.
