In Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you fight your way through the realms of Oblivion where every environment has been carefully crafted to make each discovery truly breathtaking. After you have finished the ‘Faithful Squire’ quest at the Underpall Cave, players will venture through the Underpall cave to be able to equip this central artifact called, “Sword of the Crusader” that represents the pinnacle of your journey in order to restore the ancient order of the Crusaders.

Underpall Cave – Confronting Lord Berich Vlindrel

Starting the game, you have to enter the Underpall Cave. You will then be tasked with finding Lord Berich Vlindrel’s grave. Find the path and navigate through the cave in order to reach the Underpall Reflecting Chamber. After reaching the mentioned chamber, you will encounter the phantom of Lord Berich Vlindrel.

You have to defeat the phantom in order to obtain the defiled Sword of the Crusader. Just a warning, be careful: equipping the cursed sword before purification will inflict “Lord Vlindrel’s Curse,” which includes stunted magicka and 100% weakness to fire, frost, shock, magic, and poison.

Purification at the Chapel of Arkay

Travel further until you reach the Chapel of Arkay in Cheydinhal. Once you reach the Chapel of Arkay, you will find Uril’s Aurorans surrounding the place and destroying the things that they lay their eyes on.

You have to defeat the Aurorans. Once defeated, you have to approach the Altar of the Nine in order to sanctify the sword. The Legendary Sword of Crusader will briefly disappear in your directory and then reappear, now purified and free of the curse

Return to the Priory of the Nine

After freeing and purifying the sword, you will walk out of the Chapel and return to the Priory of the Nine. Sir Thedret will come and talk to you. Once the quest is completed, you will automatically start the next phase of the DLC’s main quest.
