New TOTS Evo Hits Max 85 Stat Cap and Frustrates FC 25 Players

Team of the Season evolutions continue to confuse players. EA now allows three PlayStyle+ upgrades in EVOs more often, but the recent drop frustrated the player base. Despite early hype, the newly released EVO capped every stat at 85, making it unusable in today’s meta.
Fantasy Upgrades Fail to Deliver
Fantasy upgrades also landed with mixed results. Firmino received 99 shooting and Power Shot Plus. While powerful on paper, many players expected something more impactful like Finesse Shot Plus or Incisive Pass Plus. Power Shot no longer holds the same value late in the cycle.
Litmanen fared better. His upgrade brought 99 passing and Incisive Pass Plus, a meaningful boost. As a result, his price held firm. Firmino’s price dropped to 100K, then climbed slightly. His base stats still offer good performance, especially if used in a flexible position.
Ansu Fati earned a +2 overall with First Touch Plus. That trait works fine on the wing, but many expected something stronger. Esme Brooks also saw a small boost with Whipped Pass Plus. These upgrades added value, but none truly stood out.
Best TOTS Pack Grinding Strategy Right Now
Despite weak EVOs, players can still maximize value through smart grinding. The most efficient loop begins with the Super Daily Silver SBC. Players convert silvers into the TOTS Crafting Upgrade, which returns gold rares and commons. These then feed into the Premium League One and D1 Archma upgrade that requires 11 rare golds.
This loop costs no coins if done properly. One user opened 18 Premium packs and packed five TOTS cards. Even if luck varies, that return makes the grind worthwhile. Gold rares on the market cost just 600 coins. Spending 100K can generate 25–30 Premium packs.
Unused fodder can go back into the crafting upgrade. This cycle continues until gold rares run out. The Provisions Pack also helps replenish stock. Players can keep switching between crafting and Premium packs to maximize return.
SBC and Objective Recap
EA released two new SBCs. Igor Paixão arrived with Power Shot, Technical, and Quick Step Plus. Priced at 77K, the card may interest Brazilian squads or flair-driven players.
The KMI Bowl FC Pro League SBC added Lanzini and Chico. Chico includes 94 shooting and traits like Finesse Shot and Low Driven. Lanzini has 95 dribbling. Both cards can earn upgrades based on real-life tournament results, giving added appeal.
EA also introduced a new League One TOTS Cup. It includes an 83×10 group reward, solid pack returns, and a strong right-back card. This card features Defender Plus+ and Fullback Plus. It looks fun to use and earns praise for versatility.
Unfortunately, the mode runs under “No Rules” instead of Golden Goal. That means longer matches, although daily progress can still make the reward worthwhile.
Leaked EVO Drops the Ball
Ahead of the upcoming leaked EVO, Theo Hernandez became the center of attention due to compatibility. But when the EVO dropped, it disappointed. Stat caps at 85, even with no position limit, made the upgrade feel pointless.
Agility, balance, positioning, and other stats couldn’t rise past early-season levels. That limits usability across nearly all mid-tier and elite cards. EA may have capped stats to prevent overpowered defenders or strikers from breaking balance, but the result alienated players instead.
This EVO might work for a bronze or silver card, but for anyone else, it’s not worth completing.
