How to catch Shieldon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC

If you want to catch Shieldon, you must go to the Canyon Biome of the Terarium at Blueberry Academy. Unlike with the starter Pokemon, you won’t need to spend any BP to upgrade this biome. Shieldon will just appear.

Before going any further, it is important to note that Shieldon is exclusive to Pokemon Violet. Only those with Pokemon Violet can obtain this Pokemon. Those playing Pokemon Scarlet will need to trade for Shieldon as they can only get Cranidos in their game.

Shieldon appears near the southern part of the Canyon Biome on a grassy clifftop. This is the only area where you can find Shieldon in the game. Like most Pokemon in the Terrarium, you will encounter Shieldon between the levels of 50 and 70.

How to evolve Shieldon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC

To evolve Shieldon, you simply need to level it up. Normally, Shieldon will evolve into Bastiodon when it reaches level 30. Since you will be catching Shieldon above that level, all you need to do is level it up once to make it evolve. This can be done by battling trainers, using EXP Candy, or feeding it a Rare Candy.

Shieldon and Bastiodon are both rock and steel-type Pokemon. This means that they are weak to water, fighting and ground-type moves. These Pokemon have resistance to normal, ice, flying, psychic, bug, dragon, and fairy type moves. They have immunity to poison-type moves.
