Advanced Neural Circuits are one of many resources you’ll need to farm in The First Descendant after reaching the max level. Since your Descendant can only reach a max level of 40 and your weapons only reach level 100, you’ll need to enhance your gear to take down endgame bosses. Here’s how you can farm this resource and why it’s such a big deal.

How to get Advanced Neural Circuits fast

We recommend farming for Advanced Neural Circuits at the Border Line of Truth mission in the Mountaintops section of the White-night Gulch. While other places in this region can drop this item, we had the most luck with farming this specific location on the map below. You’ll need to beat the Devourer boss in the campaign to access this region.

Here’s how Border Line of Truth works. It involves entering a mission zone wrapped with a barrier and taking down waves of enemies until a yellow bar boss arrives. Do this thrice and you’ll clear the mission, earning 2-3 of these items per attempt. Missiles will occasionally drop on the battlefield so evade them by looking out for the white circles. Try not to leave the barrier as this slows your progress. You can retry this mission quickly since the beacon is close to the mission zone. You’ll earn a decent amount of other items like the MP Collector mod (with a low 2% chance) too. I was able to do this with a level 20 Descendant. So feel free to use weaker characters if you want to level them up.

Is it worth farming Advanced Neural Circuits?

These materials can be used to create Crystallization Catalysts. These let you boost the mod capacity of a level 100 weapon by adding a socket type to a module slot. If you add a module with the corresponding symbol to this slot, the mod capacity requirement is cut in half. But this sends the weapon back to level 1, making it a prestige reset of sorts. This will let you work on high-level builds to tackle Void Intercept bosses and other threats. It’s a core part of the endgame so you’ll definitely need to come back and farm this item if you want to become stronger.
