PostsDuelist Agents are the kings and queens of the one-on-one duel, with kits that allow them to win any gunfight. Duelists should be focused on aggression and making space for the team, capitalizing on any utility thrown. These are all the Duelist Agents in Valorant, ranked from least to most picked by Radiant-ranked players.
Updated October 31, 2024 by Maria Antiporda: Iso has been added to the list and the rankings have changed according to nerfs, buffs, and other changes to the game. Each description has also been adjusted to accommodate recent patches.
6 Phoenix
Phoenix is definitely one of the easier duelists to use because his kit is simple. That said, his flash doesn't go far, and he has no diving abilities. This makes other duelists better at getting frags and capitalizing on winning duels. His ultimate ability though, is excellent for clearing, provided that you have the aggression and the aim to amp up your impact with it.
Basic Abilities: Blaze and Curveball
- Blaze: Create a wall of fire that blocks vision, damages enemies, and heals Phoenix.
- Curveball: Throw a flare orb to the left or right and blind those who see it.
Signature Ability: Hot Hands
Throw a fireball that explodes after 1.5 seconds or when it hits the floor. The fireball sets the floor on fire for four seconds, damaging players that walk over it and healing Phoenix while he stands in it.
Ultimate Ability: Run It Back
For ten seconds, you place a marker on the ground that acts as a respawn point. You may fire, shoot, and use any abilities within that time frame before you are sent back to your marker with your health fully restored. Dying before the time runs out will also send you back.
5 Yoru
Yoru is a fantastic agent in the hands of a creative player. His ability to teleport and send out clones can utterly bamboozle enemies and take up map space. His ultimate is also great for scouting an area for his team. That said, when a Yoru starts becoming predictable, it's easy to counter their plays.

Dominate matches as Yoru with this handy guide.
PostsBasic Abilities: Fakeout and Blindside
- Fakeout: Create a Yoru clone that walks forward in a straight line after activation. When shot, the clone explodes and flashes an area.
- Blindside: Throw a dimensional fragment that activates a flash after it collides with a surface.
Signature Ability: Gatecrash
Create a rift tether that can be sent forward or placed on the ground. You can either teleport to the tether's location or trigger a fake teleport sound cue. The tether can be seen and shot by enemies.
Ultimate Ability: Dimensional Drift
Enter Yoru’s dimension, where you will be invulnerable and invisible to the opposing team. Abilities can be used while Yoru is within the dimension, and an audio cue will play when he exits.
4 Raze
Raze is a great duelist for certain maps. Her ability to satchel from a spot to the exact location of the enemy makes her a terrifying agent to defend against. The issue is that mastering Raze's precise satchel and ability timings can make her difficult to pick up for some.
Raze’s ultimate rocket can also be irritating at times, hitting the wall or floor next to your enemy, robbing you of the satisfaction of blowing them up.
Basic Abilities: Boom Bot and Blast Pack
- Boom Bot: Deploy a bot that will travel in a straight line and bounce off walls. It will lock-on any enemy it sees, chase them, and explode when within range.
- Blast Pack: Throw a satchel that will stick to surfaces. When the satchel is detonated, it can launch Raze very speedily or damage enemies.
Signature Ability: Paint Shells
Throw a cluster grenade that explodes and then releases four more grenades over a six-meter area. This ability is restored every time Raze gets two kills.
Ultimate Ability: Showstopper
Equip a rocket launcher that can launch a devastating explosive attack upon the rocket's contact.
3 Iso
Iso is the agent for the egoist aimers. His ability to capture an opponent and trap them in his ultimate’s domain for a one versus one showdown of aim certainly makes any match exciting. It’s also great for clearing a spot, allowing the squad to flood in with ease.
His Double Tap shield is a great countermeasure against pesky snipers, and it rewards every kill with a fresh shield. The fact that this shield can tank an Operator shot or a Raze rocket makes him the perfect agent for the front lines.
Basic Abilities: Contingency and Undercut
- Contingency: Create a wall that pushes forward and blocks all incoming bullets.
- Undercut: Throw a bolt that passes through objects and walls, and causes all hit players to be vulnerable.
Signature Ability: Double Tap
Gain a shield that absorbs a single instance of damage. While this is active, fallen enemies that you damaged will spawn an orb that you can shoot to restore your shield.
Ultimate Ability: Kill Contract
Pull an enemy into an arena where you face-off in a one-on-one gun fight.
2 Reyna
Reyna is one of the simplest duelists to use, and her kit is perfect if you’re after a no-nonsense fragging agent. Her blind has great range, and while it can be shot, it can be used to displace your enemy’s crosshair. Her Dismiss allows you to take aggressive angles, provided you have the aim to get the kill for it.
RelatedVALORANT: A Complete Guide To Playing Reyna
Reyna is meant for VALORANT players who stay on the offensive and isn't suitable for sitting back.
PostsShe can heal herself after a kill, making her possibly deadly throughout an entire round. Her ultimate will also have her firing bullets faster than opponents can react, not to mention the health restoration it comes with.
Basic Ability: Leer
Cast an eye in any direction to blind any enemy that sees it. It can be shot and destroyed.
Signature Abilities: Devour and Dismiss
- Devour: Use Soul Harvest to take a downed enemy's soul orb and restore your health.
- Dismiss: Consume an enemy's soul orb to become invulnerable for a few seconds. Using this with Empress allows you to become invisible.
Ultimate Ability: Empress
Reyna enters a frenzy, increasing firing rate, equipping speed, and reload speed. Reyna also gains an infinite charge of Soul Harvest abilities.
Neon wasn’t always a top duelist, but with the firing accuracy that she can pair with her dashing speed, it’s almost an unfair fight against her. She can provide support quickly by running from across the map, and she can be a difficult target to land a headshot on.
Cypher trips can be used to catch a pesky Neon mid-run. Make sure that your path is clear before making a mad dash ahead of you.
She can throw a stun and follow it up with her speed to get right up to an enemy’s face with a shotgun. Her ultimate ability can also wipe out a squad that finds it difficult to hit such a pesky moving target.
Basic Ability: Fast Lane and Relay Bolt
- Fast Lane: Create two energy lanes that block all vision.
- Relay Bolt: Throw an energy bolt that bounces and creates stunning surfaces on the ground, concussing anyone within them.
Signature Abilities: High Gear
Gain the ability to move at immense speed. While running, you can trigger a slide to make you harder to hit. For every two kills that Neon gets, the slide gets recharged.
Ultimate Ability: Overdrive
For a short period, Neon gains full speed and the ability to channel a beam of lightning from her fingertips that can fry enemies with extreme accuracy.
1 Jett
Jett has always been a reliable agent and a favorite amongst duelist mains. Her ability to get onto unexpected surfaces and precarious angles makes her powerful thanks to her ability to immediately throw a smoke and dash out right after. Anyone who’s been on the receiving end of a bullet from a Jett on an Operator can agree that she can be one terrifying duelist to peek.
With her speed and her smokes, she can easily dash onto a site, making space for her team. Her knives being so accurate also makes it rewarding for those talented at clicking heads.
Basic Ability: Cloudburst and Updraft
- Cloudburst: Throw a cloud in any direction, blocking vision for a short period.
- Updraft: Propel yourself up into the air.
Signature Abilities: Tailwind
Activate this to gain the ability to dash in any direction when triggered.
Ultimate Ability: Blade Storm
Gain a set of throwing knives. These are highly accurate when thrown. You can throw a single knife or all of them at once. Killing an enemy with a single knife restores all of her knives.
