A Skill Conversion Book allows you totransfer the experience you've gained through Skill Growth Books on one particular skill into another. This is going to save you a lot of Skill Growth Books in the long run if you expect that the change is going to be permanent.

If you've got an abundance of these Skill Conversion Books, this allows you to try out a leveled-up version of a skill to get a good indicator of its viability. Maybe you won't like it, and if you've got the Skill Conversion Books to swap back or try something else new, you're free to do so.
