While playing The Sims 4, you can have your Sims develop their photography skills. This skill works a bit differently than others in the game; in total, there are only five levels of this skill, making it quite easy to become the best.

How To Level Up The Photography Skill

To level up the photography skill, your Sim needs to take pictures. Thankfully, this is rather simple; all you need to do is head to the camera menu on your phone and select a picture-taking option.

To quickly level up the skill, we suggest just taking a bunch of pictures! You should be able to level up in no time, especially if you take multiple pictures at a time.

You will have the following options when taking a picture.

  • Take Photo
  • Take Photo Of...
  • Take Photo With...
  • Take Selfie
  • Simstagram Pet (only available with Cats & Dogs expansion)

Buying A Camera

In addition to using a phone to take pictures, you can also buy a camera. There are several options to choose from, with the more expensive options giving you better zoom options and photo quality.

What Does An Increased Photography Skill Unlock?

As mentioned earlier, there are only five levels of the photography skill. Additionally, leveling up the skill does not unlock any new interactions.

When you level up the skill, you will improve your photography quality and in turn, sell photos for more money. With a Crystal Clear Digital Camera and the photography skill at level five, you should be able to sell pictures for a fair amount of money.

If your Sim takes a picture while Inspired, the photo has a higher chance of being Outstanding, and selling for even more money.

How To Open A Photo Studio

With the Get To Work expansion, you will be able to open a retail store. From here, you can turn the store into a Photo Studio with the In A Flash Photo Studio object.

Here, you can 'Tend Photo Studio', as well as simply take pictures of Sims while at the store. Overall, this can be a nice way to make a bit of money while putting your creativity to the test.
