One of the most unexpectedly exciting skills for your Sim to play through in The Sims 4 is gardening. From tending to a quaint flower garden to growing Sim-eating Cowplants, your Sim can make a lot of Simoleons from this skill.

Not only that, but there are many features of the game that require certain plants for drinks, recipes, potions, and more that have powerful effects on your gameplay. Some of those plants are hard to track down, categorized as"uncommon for that reason. Here's a master list of all the uncommon plants in The Sims 4, including various ways to find them.
Buying Seed Packets
One of the easiest ways to get new plants in The Sims 4 is the most obvious one: level up your skill. Use your Sim's phone or computer to buy seed packets. You'll unlock new seed packets as you advance through the skill.
If you have Sims 4 Seasons, you'll also be able to unlock seasonal plant packets that contain a variety of plants connected to the season.
When you reach level seven you will be able to buy the uncommon plant seed packet. It will include a randomized, small selection of uncommon seeds.
Where To Buy Uncommon Produce
On your tenth seed packet and still no avocado? There's a quick workaround – if you have the Cottage Living expansion pack.
Using the grocery shopping option featured in the pack, you can use the phone to place an order. Once in the menu, shop around the fruits and veggies sections and see if there's any produce that piques your interest. Order what you want and once it's delivered, put the produce in a planter and have your Sim plant it.
You can also stop into town and visit the market stall to see if they're selling the produce you're looking for.
Skill level doesn't matter for planting. A level one gardener can plant a rare or uncommon plant without any issue.

Uncommon Plants In The World
If you still can't find the plant you're looking for from a packet or at the store, included is every uncommon plant in the game – separated by the pack they were included in – with some information on where and how to find them.
In each location, the plants that spawn are randomized. There is not a 100 percent chance that the plant you are looking for will be there when you visit the location, but keep visiting, and it's likely to show up.
If you have other packs, you may be able to find these plants in other pack exclusive worlds. In this list, only the base game and pack appropriate locations will be listed for each plant.

Trash Fruit
Trash fruit is a plant that can only be unlocked by some sloppy Sims. Have your Sim leave a pile of garbage on the ground outside, and after a few days a trash plant will sprout.
Wolfsbane
Introduced with Vampires, wolfsbane was added to the base game to make the plant compatible with Werewolves. If you don't have either pack, you can still find the plant through random packets or by fishing.
The easiest way to get it, though, is through a little cheating: you can purchase the plant through the debug catalog.
Outdoor Retreat
Fireleaf, Poison Fireleaf, Huckleberry, and Muckleberry are all only able to be found growing in Granite Falls, the vacation world included in Outdoor Retreat.
To tell apart the variants of each plant, simply hover over the plant you find and the name of the plant will appear, letting you know which one it is.
Spend a long vacation camping in Granite Falls to have ample time to find these plants. Look in locations such as near the Hermit Cave, around fishing spots, and behind the bathrooms.

Cottage Living
The best place to find plants in the Cottage Living world of Henford-On-Bagley is by traveling to TheBramblewood forest. There, your Sim will stumble upon patches of mushrooms. They will appear at first as "Strange Mushrooms" and the variant will only be revealed after they are harvested.
Look for plants around the church ruins.
The uncommon Charming and Verdant mushrooms are one of seven that can be found. Chocoberries are also found in The Bramblewood, and, if you have Seasons installed, it is a year-round plant.
