Some Stages have several Acts to them in Sonic Superstars, while others consist of one long Act, culminating with a robust boss encounter, which is the case with the Sky Fortress Stage. This long-winded level will test your platforming prowess at every twist and turn.

Here's how to defeat the Dragonfly and Monkey Bosses in the Speed Jungle Stage of Sonic Superstars!
PostsWhether it's seeking out the Stage's Chaos Emerald, reaching the boss, or attempting to take them down, you will have your hands full with this one, but with some guidance on how to close things out, it may not be as challenging as you may think!
Sonic Superstars: How To Beat Egg Mobile Robotnik In Sky Fortress
The video above was our first attempt at the boss. As such, we activated the newly acquired Vision Chaos Emerald Ability in the middle of the encounter to test if it would reveal anything in the fight. It did not. So please ignore using it during the encounter, as we were merely just testing it out!
When we said most single Act Stages culminate with one intense boss encounter, we meant it, and this three-phased battle against Egg Mobile Robotnik in the Sky Fortress is proof of that. You will constantly have to adapt to the situation you're tossed into, making it one of the most challenging encounters yet!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase One: Buzzsaws
Phase one of this long-winded encounter kicks off with you sky-diving toward Robotnik as he tosses out a series of buzzsaws. In this phase, the buzzsaws will always be in groups of three, creating a slight arc, making them tricky to evade.
The further the buzzsaws travel across the screen, the more they will separate and become a problem if you are on the outer edges of the arena. Watch for any buzzsaw approaching you and make the proper adjustments to avoid them as you free-fall through the sky!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase One: Platforming
Next, the arena will transition into a platforming section, having an enormous fan blade beneath you that follows you up to the top, making this portion quite hectic. You don't have much time here. Go for the Rings if needed, then jump to the top to meet Robotnik!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase One: Avatar Chaos Emerald Power
Once you reach the arena's top, you will see Robotnik chilling in his Egg Mobile. He will begin tossing more buzzsaws at you, but they are much slower and easier to evade. Here, we recommend using your Avatar Chaos Emerald Power (Blue), as they will guarantee to hit him twice, forcing him into his second phase almost instantly.
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Two: Buzzsaw Fury
After landing two hits on Robotnik in phase one, he will shift into his second phase, kicking you back up into the air and having you free-fall through the sky again. Here, he will begin throwing more buzzsaws, except this time, he will throw out three stacks of them, with each stack having three buzzsaws in a straight line.
Like last time, you must focus and position yourself correctly to evade them, which can be easier said than done. However, since they are arranged in a straight line, you can place yourself between the gaps to evade most of them, only having to slightly alter your positioning if one gets too close!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Two: Platforming
From here, you will be greeted with another platforming section. Grab the Rings if needed on your way up to Robotnik. The plan and strategy is the same as the previous phase. The platforming is just a bit more complicated, with the right side being the easiest of the two routes.
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Two: Jump Into The Bottom
Once you're at the top, Robotnik will be in his Egg Mobile waiting for you again, throwing buzzsaws down at you just like last time. Dodge them the same as before, but without access to your Avatar Chaos Emerald Power, you must hit him yourself this time.
To do this, you simply have to jump into the bottom of his Egg Mobile to deal damage, and you must do this twice to shift into the third and final phase. He will fly low enough so you can reach the bottom of his ride, so be patient here and take the opportunity when it presents itself!
We have the Vision Chaos Emerald Power active in the image above. Please ignore this, as this was our first and only attempt at this boss encounter, and we were just testing the ability out as you get it during the Sky Fortress Stage. Turns out, it does nothing during the boss encounter!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Three: Sporadic Buzzsaws
Upon landing two more hits onto Robotnik, it's time to free-fall once more, this time having Robotnik sporadically toss out his buzzsaws with no rhyme or reason. Dodging these will be incredibly tricky, so just try to position yourself toward the middle of the left side of the arena and weave in and out of any buzzsaw that comes near you!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Three: Platforming
After that, it's time for - you guessed it - another platforming section. However, this one is oddly one of the easier ones, and you can safely grab the Rings on your way up if you need them. Work your way to the top to meet Robotnik for the last time in the Sky Fortress Stage!
Egg Mobile Robotnik, Phase Three: Ground Pound
CloseFinally, once you arrive at the top, Robotnik will slightly change his attack formula a bit, keeping you on your toes. Instead of hurling buzzsaws at you, he will place a target on you before promptly slamming into the ground with tremendous force.
Stand on the middle platform and have him slam down onto it, moving out of the way at the last second to avoid taking damage. The force of his slam will temporarily get him stuck in the rubble, enabling you to jump onto his head to damage him.
From here, he will fly back into the sky and begin marking you once more. Four platforms will remain: Stand on either of the innermost ones, the ones closest to the middle and jump to the outside platform at the last possible second to evade the attack.
In the video and image above, we did it the reverse way and got lit up because of it, but the solution is to do it the other way around to avoid taking damage entirely. You can still land the finishing blow on him even if you mess it up as we did, but you likely don't want to take the risk of getting hit here, especially this late in the encounter!
