Customizing your ship allows you to make it unique, and you can also change your character's appearance. This means that not only can you modify your physical appearance, but you can also show off your style by acquiring different cosmetic items and wearing them. So set out to dominate the seas not only with your power but also with your fashion sense!

How To Change Your Appearance After The Tutorial

During completing the tutorial of Skull and Bones, you will be thrown into a chaotic situation. Once you have learned the basic game mechanics, your character, who is a captain, will find themselves floating on a piece of wood in the water, having lost consciousness.

After coming to, you'll see your reflection in the water, allowing you to change your initial appearance. First, you'll need to choose one of the preset options provided to you, and then in the next step, you can edit some other details. These options include:

  • Skin Tone
  • Body Type
  • Body Cosmetics
  • Eye Color
  • Hair
  • Facial Hair

Once you've created an appearance that suits you, some dialogues will come into play. Following this, you'll receive the "Escape From Paradise" mission, which requires you to reach Saint-Anne.

How To Find The Vanity Atelier

There is a Vanity Atelier in every Pirate Den. However, since the first one you'll encounter will be in Saint-Anne, it's easiest to go there if you're at the beginning of the game.

After arriving at Saint-Anne, you'll find plenty of options here to meet your needs and receive new missions. To change your character's appearance, you'll need to find the Vanity Atelier shop located here.

To easily find the shop, open your map while in Saint-Anne, and you'll see a location marked with a mirror icon. Mark it and navigate there easily. Enter the shop with mannequins in front of it.

How To Change Your Appearance From The Vanity Atelier

After meeting the shop owner, Florentine d'Alesso, you can interact with her to perform two actions. One of the options you can choose is 'Change Your Physical Appearance'. This allows you to recreate your captain's appearance.

This option allows you to change your appearance if you get tired of the initial one.

Changing your character's appearance doesn't incur any cost, so you can make your choices freely.

Additionally, when changing your hair and facial hair, remember that you can also change their colors from the next tab.

How To Purchase And Equip Items From The Vanity Atelier

At this cosmetic shop, you're not limited to just changing your appearance. You can also purchase Equipment and Emotes.

Some items may require you to increase your Infamy Rank to purchase.

How To Purchase Equipment

You can buy clothes, accessories, and more from the Vanity Atelier. The price depends on the item you're buying and can be in one of three currencies:

Can be gained by completing in-game activities like quests, sinking ships, etc.

Can be purchased from the In-Game Store or Ubisoft Store.

Pieces of Eight

You'll receive them as rewards for completing tasks for The Helm.

There are plenty of options available for purchase. If you want to buy matching accessories and outfits, the 'Sets' tab might be a good choice for you. However, it's also possible to create good combinations with different accessories and set pieces according to your taste.

How To Purchase Body Cosmetics

By selecting the 'Buy and Equip' option, you can directly equip the item you're purchasing. Alternatively, instead of equipping the accessory immediately, you can simply select "Buy" to save it for later.

Previously purchased accessories do not display any currency icons in the top right corner of their boxes and are listed first. This allows you to easily find and equip previously purchased equipment when you visit the shop.

If you want to view accessories based on your available silver or other currencies, the filtering option in the shop can be helpful. You can sort items by Infamy or price by selecting the 'Sort By' option, and further narrow down your search by selecting the 'Filter By' option to make your search more specific.

How To Purchase Emotes

At the beginning of the game, your captain already has access to some Emotes. To discover more, you can purchase Emotes that attract your interest from the 'Emote' tab in the Vanity Atelier.

While there is no limit to the number of Emotes you can purchase, your captain can carry a total of eight Emotes at a time. After purchasing an Emote from the shop, you can assign it to a shortcut slot by selecting it.
