Beelzebub, the Fiend Prince, is the main character in Sand Land. Despite his childish appearance, he's one of the world's most powerful fighters, able to take on trained soldiers and dangerous predators with ease. Sand Land lets you step into Beelzebub's shoes and knock your enemies for a loop with quick combos and the Power of Darkness.

PostsAs the game progresses, you'll face some foes that are a threat even to the pint-sized pugilist. For these fights, you'll need many of the Skills available to the Fiend Prince through leveling up. Here are the best buffs to spend your SP on.
8 Max Power Of Darkness Boost
Beelzebub uses the Power of Darkness to fuel his most powerful attacks; think of it as mana for powers like Rush and Metallize. Each of these Skills take a lot of Power, so you won't be able to use them in quick succession.
Beelzebub slowly regenerates Power of Darkness at night, so it can be worth adventuring after the sun has gone down.
By taking the two Skills in the Max Power Of Darkness chain, you can increase your total Power to an upper limit of 300. That's enough for three Rushes if you want to quickly demolish a powerful foe! With your Power maxed out, you won't often have to worry about charging up before unleashing Belz's full power.
7 Enhance Powerful Attack
At first, Beelzebub's powerful attack - a charged punch - is pretty underwhelming. It takes time to power up, and unless you're hoping to stun an enemy for a throw, you're better off just beating them down with weak attacks instead.
Enhanced Powerful Attack gives the windup punch a much-needed damage boost, giving it a place in your repertoire. Its primary purpose is still to set up throws, but with this upgrade it can be used to one-shot weaker enemies.
6 Max HP Boost
Beelzebub can take a lot of punishment, but a prolonged fight can wear him down. Whether you get caught in a hail of gunfire or just find yourself at the mercy of a difficult boss, it always pays to have more HP. The longer you can withstand a prolonged assault, the more opportunities you'll have to disengage and heal up.
5 Enhance Rush
Rush is the first ability that Beelzebub gains that uses the Power of Darkness, and it's also the most universally useful. When it's activated, Belz unleashes a flurry of kicks and punches that deal heavy damage.

PostsYou can control the direction of Beelzebub's attacks during Rush. Use this to chase after dodging enemies, or to change targets midway through the move.
Rush is essential in every one of the game's hand-to-hand boss fights, so it's a good idea to power it up by pouring SP into the bottom left corner of the Skill Tree for this critical buff.
4 Power Of Darkness Absorption Boost
Beelzebub gains Power each time he deals or takes damage. With Power Of Darkness Absorption Boost, the rate at which Power is gained from enemy attacks goes up. Unless you're an absolute master at dodging, you're going to take some hits; you may as well get the most benefit possible out of it!
3 Aerial Evasion
Some of the earliest Skills available are also the best, as they form the basis for your entire combat strategy. Aerial Evasion is one such Skill.
Aerial Evasion lets you dodge in midair, closing a massive hole in Beelzebub's defenses early on. This becomes especially important when exploring Battleship Ruins, as flying Defender Drones will attack from all sides and usually require a jumping attack to bring down.
2 Brace For Attack
If you take a big enough hit, Belz wil be knocked to the ground for a moment. You're extremely vulnerable in this state, so learning Brace For Attack as early as possible is vital.
With Brace For Attack, you can use the Dodge button to immediately get back up when knocked down. It gets you back in the fight sooner, preventing your enemy from following up on the hit that floored you.
1 Enhance Weak Attack
The overwhelming majority of your strikes will be weak attacks, basic punches that form a quick combo. Taken in rapid succession, they can quickly wear down an opponent's health bar.
Enhance Weak Attack, located in the top right corner of the Skill Tree, powers up these standard strikes. Early on, it ends fights quicker, and later in the game it's important for keeping pace with enemy growth. That goes double if you wander into an area with high-level enemies!
An enemy with a Red Skull icon next to its name is of a much higher level than you; they're not impossible to defeat, but chances are they'll win if you decide to engage.
