Like other Battle Tested fights, you'll need a certain rank of influence to fight the NPC that drops the weapon. Additionally, this enemy only has two weaknesses, and a turn-limit of 15 turns, meaning you'll need to plan carefully if you want to defeat them. Let's take a look at how to find the Sandcat Dancer, her attacks and weaknesses, and some good party members for taking her down.

Where To Find The Sandcat Dancer

The Sandcat Dancer can be found in Sunshade, in the top left corner of the map. You'll need to be rank 22 in Power influence to Contend with her.

However, to even talk to the Sandcat Dancer in the first place, you'll need to unlock and clear the Expert Hunt for Sunshade, 'Defeat the Swallowing Bug'. After clearing this Expert Hunt, you can talk to the Sandcat Dancer and challenge her to a fight.

Battle Strategy

The Sandcat Dancer is weak to axe and ice attacks. She can debuff your entire front row with decreased physical and elemental defense, then attack with single and front row attacks, dealing high damage. However, with this strategy, you won't need to worry about her powerful attacks.

Instead, the best way to defeat the Sandcat Dancer is to simply not let her attack. This can be done by constantly putting her in the broken state by using multi-hit attacks to quickly break her shield. To that end, we recommend bringing as many of your strongest Apothecaries and ice-damage attackers as you can.

An example party for fighting the Sandcat Dancer.

Units like Sofia and Aslyte have powerful ice attacks that can break shield and deal high damage when the boss is broken. For axe-wielders, Rodion, Shelby, and Merrit are great choices, due to their multi-hit attacks, and, in Shelby's case, access to both axe and ice attacks.

While your goal is to break the boss as quickly as possible, it's impossible to prevent her from ever attacking. However, when she leaves the broken state, she will debuff your front row, which may sound dangerous, but if you break her again before she has a chance to attack, she won't be able to utilize these debuffs.

Because of this, a Tank unit and dedicated healer aren't necessary. If you're worried about taking damage, the healing and regenerative abilities of your Apothecaries should be more than enough.

Rewards

After defeating the Sandcat Dancer, you will have a low chance to get the Battle Tested fan. The weapon is not guaranteed to drop, but a Historic Material is. This item can be used to trade for any Battle Tested weapon of your choosing, after obtaining enough of them.

You can Contend with the Sandcat Dancer once per day to get a Historic Material, but you can use the Impress Path Action as many times as you want. This method of fighting the NPC also has a low chance to drop the Battle Tested Fan, making it better if you want to quickly grind it out.
