The remake of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar was highly anticipated, not only because the original game was so captivating, but also because the remake adds so much more to it. Whether you are new to the series or simply revisiting, you will be surprised by how fresh the game feels.

Some notable changes fixed a lot of things that felt tedious in the original game. The differences aren't limited to only quality of life features, but they also affect narration and overall gameplay. There are some big changes to the bazaar and farming mechanics, which add a lot more depth to them.

Complete Requests To Get Closer To Residents

You get quests and mail often from the residents of Zephyr town, unlike the original game. Completing them gives you rewards, and the welcoming gifts also help you get started quickly. Although it does take out some challenge, as it was quite difficult to get enough items to sell in the bazaar early game.

Completing quests also helps you form connections with other villagers quickly. This also helps if you are looking for romance and marriage. If you take a look at the list of characters, you can also see which of them are currently looking to ask for a favor.

You Help People Set Bazaar Stalls

In the original game, as your Bazaar evolves, new stalls open automatically. However, the remake adds more depth, and you will need to help new sellers set up their shop before they are ready for business.

They will usually make small requests, such as finding lost animals or gathering particular materials for their start-ups. You can choose which Bazaars to help first if you are interested in what they are trying to bring in.

There Are No Bazaar Winners

Every Sunday, you are presented with an evaluation report. This informs you regarding the targets required to upgrade your bazaar to the next level. This helps you prepare to meet expectations during the following week.

The original game, however, did it much better, as after every bazaar, there were individual winners. More rewards were handed out to the shop with the most sales and a stall with the best customer support. We wish this competitive feature were there in the remake to increase the incentive to work hard.

You Can Glide

The remake adds an interesting feature, considering that Zephyr Town has a strong relation with wind. You can now use the flowing air to glide across areas that were previously unseen.

The original game had a double jump, which could take you to places and shortcuts. The remake does a great job at expanding the explorable area while also retaining the similar pathways you used to take.

You can't double jump in the remake unless you buy the technique from the mayor's stall.

Addition Of Nature Sprites

Nature Sprites didn't play much of a part in the original game, but the remake adds much more significance to their roles. You gain Happy power after you do activities in the game, which you can exchange at their Happy Shoppe in the bazaar for some items and decor.

Other than contributing to the Bazaar in a meaningful way, they also save you when you fall down in the water. In the original game, you would come out by yourself, and there would be no one to tell you to be careful.

Nature Sprites also help you sell products faster when you activate cheer time.

Windmills Craft Different Items

In the original game, each Windmill was able to craft only a specific type of item. So, there were separate ones for accessories, tool upgrades, and general goods. But the Windmills vary regarding item quality rather than type.

You can craft accessories and upgrade tools in the first windmill early in the game. However, as you keep playing and unlock more of them, you get better quality products, which is in line with your progress.

You Can Change Outfits

Story of Season: Grand Bazaar adds a lot more customization features and clothes. In the original game, there were only two default characters, and you could not change anything about their appearance.

After character creation, you can change the way your character looks anytime in your home. You can also get new clothes, which are fun to try out, especially if you are a fashionista looking to slay.

The Way You Sell During Bazaar

The core gameplay of selling your products in the Bazaar is the same as the original game. However, you will find some interesting changes to this mechanic in the remake. The most notable one is that you can now stock items.

Stocking up on items helps a lot because you won't have to go all the way back home to get more products. The Bazaar in the remake is also held in two shifts, unlike the original game, where you could freely sell or explore the bazaar.

If you close shop early in the new version, you won't be able to open it again till the next shift.

Farming Changes

Farming is basically the core gameplay of every Story of Seasons game, so naturally, you can expect some changes here in the remake. You can get unique-shaped crops or golden crops when you take good care of them in your field.

You also need to set up wind screens in case of a hurricane to avoid damage to your crops. The original game only yielded you one crop at a time of harvesting, but you will gather several of them from a single plant in the remake.

Bazaar Decoration

A feature that was largely missing in the original game was being able to redecorate your bazaar stall. It gets boring after a while to see the same layout of your store every week. So, to keep it fresh, the remake introduces Bazaar Decor.

You can edit the appearance of your Bazaar every week, as there are many options available which you can purchase at Rebecca's stall. They don't merely offer a cosmetic purpose, but they also give you sales bonuses if you want more profit.
