Not only do you get to name all of your custom crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life upon fusion, but with so many unique combinations to ask Vinnie to make, here are our picks for the best custom crops.
8 Sports-Balls: Custom Crops 34-36
Sully and Hugh, Forgotten Valley’s resident athletes, may be pleased to learn that three of the custom crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life are themed after different ball-sports. Between a green soccer ball, a basketball, and a football, there’s plenty of sporty choice in the garden.
They each take some time to grow, and can be grown in different seasons as well (with Summer the only season without a sports-related custom crop). These glowing crops may do better on your plate than on the field, though.
7 Tea Party Set: Custom Crops 30 And 31
These adorable custom crops pair perfectly together to offer the sweetest tea party out in your fields, with one a teapot and the other a teacup. Growing them directly beside one another in the third field makes it look like your farm is always ready to (tea) party.
The teacup’s Encyclopedia entry even lists it as, “the finest, most sophisticated crop,” and you can indeed see it steam when it’s ready to be harvested in your field. The teapot, meanwhile, bounces around a bit when it’s ready for picking.
6 Bells And Whistles: Custom Crops 10-13
Music-lovers playing Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will be happy to know that you can grow something of a symphony out in your fields! These four crops all make delightful instrument noises when approached if they’re ready to harvest, turning your field into a concert.
Custom Crop Ten makes a bell noise, Custom Crop 11 rattles like a maraca, Custom Crop 12 is a crisp cymbal, and Custom Crop 10 rounds out the band with a whistle. Anyone married to Gustafa or Lumina, the musicians, may enjoy a groovy garden for their special someone.
5 The Peanut: Custom Crop Three
There are quite a few custom crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life that look like actual, real-life food – the eggplant, the garlic, or the cabbage leaf, to name a few – we think they nailed it the hardest with the peanut crop, Custom Crop Three.
A plant that takes almost the whole season to grow, the game acknowledges its source material, calling it a “nutty crop,” one where “you’ve got to crack its tough shell to get to the edible bits.” The recipes that use it even follow in kind with the peanut theme.
4 Sweet Treats: Custom Crops 27-29
Amusingly right beside the tea party crops we mentioned earlier in our list, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life also features three dessert-themed crops. Not only can you have the tea party, but you can provide dessert, too!
Custom Crop 27 looks like a wrapped piece of candy, and is a “sweet, sugary crop with a fruity flavor.” The star-shaped Custom Crop 28 has a “crunchy texture [that] makes it takes like it’s freshly baked!” Finally, the donut-shaped Custom Crop 29 is described to be “perfectly sweet.”
3 Day And Night Ginger: Custom Crops 23 And 24
Though the combination of second-gen hybrid crops you use to create Custom Crops 23 and 24 are the exact same, you may find that you wind up with two similar but different custom crops as a result when fusing. And as the Encyclopedia entries suggest, the time of day you’re fusing the crop decides which color ginger you’ll get.

From 6:00 AM until 5:59 PM, you’ll get Custom Crop 24 when fusing with this combination. However, from 6:00 PM until 5:59AM, Vinnie will instead give you Custom Crop 23 with the fusion.
2 Seasonal Colored Bulbs: Custom Crops 18-21
Running with the theme of having a theme for the Custom Crops you’re growing in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, Custom Crops 18-X21 are four different colored lightbulb crops that radiant a vibrant light at harvest time.
Each one of them grows in a different season, and each one takes practically the whole season to grow, so it'll take you a whole year to collect each color. But once you do, your inventory will be the most vibrant!
1 Rainbow Disco Ball: Custom Crop 32
Though there are several different records to find throughout Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, Custom Crop 32 has it covered on the tunes. When ready to be picked, these bouncy disco balls shine in pretty much every color, casting a fun ambiance across the field.
The Encyclopedia even calls it “a sparkling crop whose flowers like to boogie,” stating for A-Rank crops that they have a “funky flavor.” Despite the taste being described as “spicy and sour,” we think this fun Custom Crop is pretty sweet.
